Can you believe this shit?!

DESPITE this, I will still have to say...

You DO NOT have to get drug tested to get prescription medications. I don't see why you consented, especially when you know that you smoked weed.

Uh, this isn't true.

Do you honestly think you can refuse to sign the narcotics contract and still be treated by a pain management clinic?

No way. If you want a doctor to treat you, you play by their rules. They can drop you whenever they want to

Hmmm... clearly this whole thing taught you nothing then :\

I don't get this... He's saying that weed has never harmed him, and that it should be lagal, so that people like him can smoke it to relax without the possibility of all this shit coming down on their heads like happened him. I think that is a pretty reasonable opinion.

What are you implying that he should he have learned?

The only thing I'd take from it is that drug tests suck ass and that weed's legal status is inconvenient at best.

This is so stupid because I don't consider cannabis a drug.

OH and btw I am NOT addicted to either opiates or Benzo's (i have been off both for over a week) so im not just crying about getting kicked out and having to go threw w/d's. But seriously as far as he's concerned, I am dependent on opioids, so thats all I am saying.

You may not consider cannibis a drug, but the govt. and doctors do, which, unfortunately, means it is a drug according to where you live's standards.

And if you're not dependant on them, and can go without, why would it be a big deal? Don't get me wrong, I'd be pissed off too, but if you can go without, maybe you should. I don't see it ending well. Using opiates and benzos will become out of control eventually... At least 99% of the time.

You don't need to take drug tests to get opiates and benzos...
Why would you consent to such a thing in the first place?

I suspect you are NOT a patient at a pain clinic.

This thread is beginning to hurt my head. The reality is any "drug" has positive and negative effects. Some outweigh others. For the idiot that told me to shut the fuck up because weed can never be deadly in combination with other drugs hmmm. how about alcohol and weed for one. marijuana inhibits the body's natural desire to eliminate dangerous levels of alcohol and as such can damage the organs to the point of death. But hey what do I know not like I'm a medical professional.

No, I am not. You don't have to sign a contract to buy dope on the streets, I'll tell you that.

And I have quit heroin over 6 months ago. I get suboxone monthly, there are no tests I have to do for it.

Do you all have to get piss tested for hydrocodone and oxycodone? 8)

Alcohol would be what killed you, though.

If you're dumb enough to intake that much alcohol, maybe you deserve to die.

I'm not saying weed doesn't have negative effects, some serious ones at that, and mixing weed with drugs can cause a feeling of being more intoxicated, but I have never read or heard about in any encyclopedia or article that weed will directly inhibit metabolism of alcohol, causing a "potentiating" effect, if you will, to actually cross the line of alcohol poisoning (as far as death, not just puking).

just because it's not talked about or written about much doesn't mean that it is not true, but if 'mixing weed with [alcohol or any drug] produced significant negative effects, i'm sure that it would be all over these threads, hence this HR website.

i took a pee test in march after my visit with my dr, i knew i'd come up pos for the green

i got to see the test they use at my doc practice, they bill my insurance $200 everytime they do it and its the 5 strip test. and they told me to pee in and and put it on the counter in the back. it was a set of 5 strips, i did'nt have time to read all off them but the last one was PCP

I saw my DR's PA-C my last visit and they said nothing of it, she wrote me out two scripts for oxyirs, fent patchs and valium and said see you back in june. The only time i ever spoke about the green was the first test i took when he took over my narcotic scripts, then i was only on valium and perks. He was like so he you (did the motion of smoking a joint) and I was like no, well in a sense. I told him i don't smoke it, but my gf makes baked goods with it, and i eat it 2 hours before i want to goto bed because i have insomnia. And I told him my dr said i can't have ambien if i am on valium. I've had 2 test since and never heard a word about them.

My last one i took because the DEA or med board or who ever came down on him said he had to give tests to everyone who he rxed narcotics that day.
A patient of his of 3 years forged one of his scripts, i'm guessing the amount of count or something.

I am beginning to suspect that this thread is secretly being run by pain management clinics to increase their patient base.

:) But since the economy is still doing so poorly, I'll help out.

Marijuana has quite a few, extremely negative, effects, especially with chronic use. This is beyond debate, and the number of negative effects discovered seems to rise every year. I really don't understand the all natural argument. Swine flu (whoops, sorry, A/H1N1 influenza) is all natural. Your excrement is all natural. A remarkable number of highly toxic mushrooms are all natural. That said, I still think my daily multivitamin is healthier. It does taste like shit though.

The big difference between "natural" and "not natural" seems to be that the latter generally requires rigorous testing before being allowed on the market, while the former is generally allowed on the market until it's shown to kill or harm someone.

As far as weed being deadly... probably not as an acute cause of death, no. But I'm not sure "death" should be the threshold we have to reach before we say "hey, maybe smoking so much of this stuff is a bad idea."

To the poster above using baked goods for insomnia... personally I think your doctor made the right call, but probably should have suggested that there are other treatments to try (rozerem), or cognitive-behavioral therapy (which is actually more effective than medications like ambien, over the long term). Hang in there, and good luck.

No, but there is far less processing which ultimately produces a safer substance.

I have a friend that says, "Man, I don't do those fucking pills or drugs. Stick with weed, it's natural!" It's so retarded.

Even the statement that "weed it natural" has become FALSE. Today's high quality "brand name" weed has even been chimically altered to grow faster, have bigger buds, has pesticides, and all sorts of other shit! Hell, opium is more natual than weed. It literally just grows in a field, you cut it, and it seeps opium. High quality bud is grown and cured in warehouses. Last I checked, warehouses aren't "nature."

I was in a pain management clinic before my total hysterectomy (which I had 3 weeks ago) it is sooooo painful but anyway at that time I was a crack addict and was trying to get off. I went into the pain management Dr and got kicked out for having crack in my system. i knew better than to start the crack but I was in so much pain and stressed, I figured it might help but it only made it worse. Thank goodness I was able to get off crack and stay off for 3 years. I think it's bull that I got kicked out. I was only taking the meds he gave me and I wasn't Dr shopping. Some Dr's are more strict than others.

LoL I can't believe my little rant turned into such a big thread! wow, i just looked this up but anyways just to let you guys all know; All is well with the scripts and the pain dr. !

irie

i've failed every time for THC, my pain dr only brought it up last summer post taking my first UT
I told him I eat it for insomnia as i was cut off ambien due to the other meds I was on

ever since then, i take it every so often, and i know i fail, but they never mention it anymore

^ damn your lucky your dr. is cool with that. I mean my doctor actually didn't seem that concerned about the THC in my drug test but just stressed that I don't do it again for it is a legal issue not a medical one. I wanted so bad to just have a real 'medicinal weed' conversation with him and tell him all about how marijuana is actually a better pain-killer FOR ME then the Hydrocodone and Tramadol..And I too agree and use marijuana for insomnia, it is a great sleep-herb.
