I recently moved to California. I'm trying to be off-label prescribed an opiate for psychological issues (it's the only type of pharmaceutical I'm willing to take). The last time I had an appointment with my psychiatrist he prescribed me Tramadol, which is a synthetic drug that's related to opiates. My doctor knew what I really wanted was a true opiate; and he mentioned to me that he has apprehensively prescribed hydrocodone to people in the past.
My question is should I bother contacting him, is there anything he can do or should I just start hitting up doctors here? Also, do you think asking psychiatrists to off-label prescribe an opiate is a waste of my time?
