Well folks, I have a weird situation to report. Please chime in and tell me what you think, any expert advice would also be appreciated.
So, today I went to the dentist to get a filling and the dentist used a 1:1000 mix of epinephrine and lidocaine. After I got home I could feel some of the local resorbing from the tissue which would lead it back into the blood for metabolization in the liver. Beforehand I had prepped a 4mg IV shot of hydromorphone to help kill the pain--which wasn't as bad as I'd remembered.
When I got home I prepped another shot as I have chronic pain. I felt like getting a little buzz, but I didn't expect to get much as I had just taken a shot about two hours previous. Well, when I took the shot I was overtaken by a huuuge rush! It felt like I hadn't dosed all day and had taken 8mg instead of 4mg, even though I had taken 4mg every four hours or so. Anyway, I was shocked and enjoyed the pleasure which seemed to last much longer than my regular shots.
I remembered reading that some heroin distributors cut their product with benzocaine for said reason of increasing the rush(which I don't even know if it boosts the effects or is just a myth). However, I didn't think of this until after the dose so I couldn't have gotten a placebo effect. So, I am wondering if some of the lidocaine in my bloodstream would have somehow increased the potency of the rush from my hydromorphone. The amount of epinephrine in the shots at the dentist was miniscule, so it wasn't the stimulant making it feel stronger. Any information would be great. It just seemed waay too random to be placebo, and I would have had no reason; I was actually expecting the rush to be pretty weak considering I already had some in my system...
