Can anyone London-based tell me what Limehouse is like?

my cousin used to live in limehouse, she loved living there. she's a bit la de da in a way. (no disrespect but not very street aware)

I walk alone in inner city brum more than I should i think that's why the good lord (my son) acquired me a DOG. he still worries about my midnight jaunts though.

I dont worry about walking round Brum late nights or early mornings as usually I look like I'm mad, usually tripping or mashed on MDMA after raves etc. Burger bar or Johnson's wouldn't trouble you it's just the usual nutcases you gotta keep an eye out for but I find mumbling to yourself with an added weird walk tends to fend people off as they think your care in the community etc.

I've slept loads of times in Digbeth coach station before when I've come back into the country after going to visit "her" up in Norge area & got a general vibe of easy going feeling.
Then again Aston, sparkbrook & queens way is a different league ;)

nout wrong with aston. too feckin bright for anything, even in the park, couldn't see yon perseids. only reason burgs and johnnies have to trouble ya is if yer making more money than them. they make money offa me . wankers.

Cool, thanks a lot for all the info...and the David Lee Roth photos :?

I'm actually not that bothered about how entertaining the area is in itself, since as a few of you said the transport links are great so if I want to go to a bar/club (and as an afterthought, uni =D) or whatever it's easy enough to get out of the neighborhood - it's more just about coming home at night and stuff. Although SHM you're right, that's not great anywhere in London. Anyway I think I'll probably get the place and just avoid walking around at 3 am or something.
(also jancrow cheers for all that & the link)

Yeah, sorry 'bout that. I get carried away sometimes. :D

Glad the thread has actually served its purpose. And to add a non-Londoner's perspective, I'd say if you can handle the grimier side of Paris then you can easily handle London. Not that I'd recommend being female and walking around a big city at 3am to anybody, like!

Hahaha, that's a great name for a place. I hadn't heard of that before.
