Prop 19 is fucked up!
1- Prop 19 lets people who have gotten rich on prop 215 monopolize cannabis production.
2-Your rights to grow your own garden are taken away, they want full control and all of the $$ going through oakland.
3- Prop 19 does NOTHING to provide for legit cannabis patients, it is ALL ABOUT COTROL OF THE MARKET.
VOTE NO
uhhhh, your totally wrong on most of those points. I would say VOTE YES ON 19!!
Its just one step in the right direction on ending this drug war. But lets look at your arguements for a quick sec.
1. Actually if prop 19 passes more folks than ever will be growing, so there goes your monopoly theory. Have people profited from Prop 215? yes, but there are also many people who are basically growing medicine. I hope everyone can have a job that they like to do. That is our "pursuit of happiness" right that we are exercising.
2. Prop 19 says every adult can have their own garden, so rights are not being taken away. As current law stands, if you have a doctors recomendation you can grow your personal amount. I used to live in oakland, the city council made the move to set up a tax structure and large scale grows in warehouses. They missed out on the dot com boom, and they want to position themselves in the market if it goes legal they will be in on it from the start, and collect the tax revenue. Oakland has no control of anything outside the city limits of oakland either.
3. Prop 19 is good for patients . Once its legal I hope more studies can be done so that we can develop certain strains for insomnia, and other conditions. The control of the market will not happen because market forces of capitalism will not allow it. If there is demand, then many small time entrepenaurs will create the supply.
There are a number of growers in N.Cal and elsewhere who are against this proposition and are spreading dis-information. These growers are making huge profits and they do not want others (competition) entering the market of this semi- legal industry. They spread wild rumours like marlboro is buying land in humbolt so they can get in on it, but do not fall for it.
The most recent polls show that 48-49% of likely voters said they will vote yes with 42% no. This is the first time that there has been movement upward toward the 51%magical number.
If you read this far, thank you and I would recommend that you vote absentee (by mail) before november 2. Yes on prop 19- lets make history!
