buying codeine in aus?

^ I think it had more to do with people abusing them and not having access to sites like BL; hence not knowing how to do a CWE and causing themselves serious damage, especially gastric ulcers as d_m mentioned. The reason a lot of the codeine threads here were closed (and this one's heading in that direction) was not only the quantity here in Aus DD but also that a lot of them were really glorifying it. I mean honestly hands up here if you're a BL veteran who has abused codeine and it was partially due to reading about it here?

(only for me it was the splittable N+ that kicked things off)

There was a good period where I predminantly used ibuprofen containing pills to perform CWE because it is slightly less harmful in high doses than paracetamol, and also because it was generally a tad more cost effective and ibu pills generalyl contain a little more codeine.

When I was using CWE heaviest, probably 3 or 4 nights a week, I was using ibuprofen formulations almost exclusively and I definately noticed stomach problems in particular acid reflux, which I have never suffered from with any degree of frequency before or since. I tend to find that I can get a pretty clear solution from para pills after a shirt squeeze and running it through a coffee filter, 2 at the most. Ibu pills on the other hand, it seems no matter how many times I run it through coffee filters (I have as many as 5 or 6 before) the solution is always cloudy.

Exactly the same here on all counts. I think it's relatively important to have some food in your stomach when drinking an extraction for exactly this reason. Sure it'll slow absorption and you won't get as high as quickly but it's worth it for the sake of harm reduction :)

It was the internet but not BL that sparked my interest to try CWE, although it was the advice of some helpful BLers in the relevant thread at the time who helped me perfect my extraction technique to the point it was a viable way to get a good buzz haha.

I agree with belarki that it was likely people not accessing sites like this rather than us discussing it that lead to the restrictions. There was plenty of paranoid talk on here about how it would get banned due to our discussions but I don't buy that. It surprised the hell out of me but there really is, or atleast was, a huge amount of retards that just eat these tablets like fucking tic tacs and we have these morons to thank for our current predicament.

You can get just as high off DXM or dihydrocodeine as codeine but theres no NSAIDs compounded with those (there could be in some cases with DXM, but a 30 second google search will tell you what brand has only DXM) so less retards can fuck themselves up. Infact both these drugs are arguably more potent than codeine (personally I don't find DHC so) yet there have been no arbitrary restrictions placed on these products recently that I am aware of.

Interesting HR point about a full stomach when consuming codeine, personally I like to have eaten lightly 4 hours before eating my potentiators then waiting 45-60 more miutes to down my CWE. Often times I will not eat at all on a day I plan to dose just so it smacks me hard (I do not reccomend this, it can not be healthy). I assume that if there was a negligible amount of paracetamol or ibuprofen in the solution it wouldn't matter if you had food in the stomach or not, but certainly in the case of ibu pills where I am certain more gets through than it should this is a good idea.

Little bit OT, and I will concede that there was a fair bit of glorification in codeine threads going on and I was probably guilty of some of it, but IMHO the main reason the changes to codeine discussion took place was due to one specific persons decision that CWE discussion somehow had less HR benefit than whinging about the MDMA drought for 2 years or asking how likely it is to get caught using drugs in Asia. 8)

As everyone else has said, it was due to people just popping the pills and being damaged from the ibuprofen; you didn't hear much about damage from paracetamol but I bet it happened as well.

For me it was some dodgy website talking about home made drugs that showed how to do a CWE and then linked to BL... and that's how I ended up here.

the reason i asked about panadeine extra because i read that it contains 15mg of codeine but didnt the new laws say that anything in AUS containing over 12?mg had to be prescribed?

That's what I thought was happening from reading the articles about it leading up to the tightening of restrictions, but apparently they didn't go that far.

haha thats funny because both of you joined BL at the same time because of researching doin CWEs over the internet that ended yous up here and ya never left lol

ive known about codeine and its recreation use for ages but i never knew what a CWE was till i red this thread...

do the panadeine extras just come in just 12 packs or is that the most you can get at once? i got this killer toothache and need to get some tomorro..

Hmm i started lookin for a cheaper alternative sumfn that will help me relax so i searched on BL and found alot of useful info on it. Unfortunately i have been abusing it ever since for quite a long time which sparked my interest towards other opiates. Oxy, morphine, hydromoprhone and Heroin. Never thought id be doing the so called hardcore stuff but one thing lead to another:S before i knew it i was madly in luv with that warm fuzzy rush that opiates had to offer altho i am considering to go on a detox plan soon as it aint pretty. Im fairly certain that codeine will lead to more stronger opiates withing time and when one has developed a tolerance to it and needs sumfn stronger.

They come in 24 packs, but in Brisbane at least a lot of place don't carry them. Some places will let you buy two 12 packs at once though.

you been awake all night bro or awaken for work this morning? ive been flirting with a manic episode unable to sleep so i've been cleaning the house all night and burning fires in the yard! lol.

ready for another day of house chores haha.

^ Awake for work, I have early starts on Monday to Thursday, but then get to sleep in on Fridays... can't wait 'til then. :D

Lol sounds like you've had a fun night, we used to burn things in our backyard but our neighbors narced us out to the council and we got a cease and desist letter. :\

^ All codeine combination products are S3 now up to 15mg, after that it's prescription only. The only S2 codeine medicine available now is those phenylephrine/codeine/paracetamol cold and flu meds which are shit for CWE and for nasal decongestion.

Yeah a lot of pharmacy workers can be judgmental based on appearances, to be fair to them though they do get a lot of dodgy people in their workplace on a daily basis trying to take them for a ride.

Weird you've found Chemist Warehouse to be more relaxed, I've always found them to be tight and even outright lie to a friend of mine and tell him that Nurofen Plus was Rx only.

Chemist Warehouse is about to be in some trouble with the government soon, if not already...

got my panadeine extras today, 24 pack and the only thing they asked was if i wanted to get the chemists own brand because it was on special for a third of the price :p (did have my work uniform on with my name tag, might be why they never asked for details)

never the less, i stuck with panadeine because the chemists own were only 10mg...

^ Yeah it probably varies from location to location... the CW I known people to have trouble with tend to have outright rude staff, at another location it was a young pharmacy assistant who told my friend it was Rx only and my friend couldn't be bothered to ask to speak to the pharmacist about it.

Whereas I know of quite a few nice family owned pharmacies here in Brisbane, and some smaller chain types ones that I like to go to for my prescriptions and other medicine.

But yeah CW isn't very popular with other pharmacies right now, they have been illegally advertising that they will provide concession PBS medication for less then what the actual consumer contribution is meant to be. I think they were even offering that price for general PBS items as well. This is a breach of some part of the Health Act I believe, and the pharmacists behind it could all lose their approval to sell PBS subsidized medication.

There loss not ours like i said there are tons of pharmacies around so if they dont want ur money someone else will gladly want it. I suggest goin to the very small chemists (Family owned business) as they are in a big competition with the bigger retailers but the only down side is that they mite be a tad more expensive.

I know small amounts of codeine based pills were always OTC over in NZ a while back. eg panadeine.

Does anyone know if this is still the case? Or did they make it prescription only?

I don't want to get in trouble asking the pharmacist for something that's 'illegal' But I guess asking is not really a crime is it! :)

^ $5.60 this year. However recently they advertised PBS medicines for $4.99, it won't affect low prices there already for generic medicine and the like if your store is doing it legitimately.

Pharmacists have some discretion with the price of a prescription, and they will be competitive and lower the price of a brand premium if you say you can get it cheaper elsewhere. However they usually won't sell at a loss, as CW are doing here, and they definitely aren't allowed to advertise that they will sell PBS medication at a lower price then the mandatory contribution ($5.60 for concession and $34.20 for general this year).

It may seem as though it doesn't matter and if CW wants to give you medicine at a lower cost, then they should be allowed to. The problem is that it's illegal, and not fair on all the pharmacists who follow the rules and will lose business as a result.

^ It might just be a lower concession price, but I am fairly certain that they were also advertising that they would sell General PBS items at $4.99, which is a huge discount. Obviously they could only operate at that loss for a certain period, then revert back to their normal pricing and hopefully keep the customers they won over.

I find it funny that you suggest chemist warehouse is lax as I have found the 2 nearest me to be pretty much the biggest cunt pharmacists around, to the point they will take my ID for restavit and Rikodeine. One of them actually asked me to leave and refused to sell me codeine containing products. I am in melbourne too so it is not as if they are all friendly down here.

The truth is no one chain is any more lax than the other, store to store may vary but even then its going to depend who is working there at the time you go in to buy the pills. There really is no point in reccomending one chain over another on the basis of anything other than price, and that isn't allowed.

Funny Mr Blonde I have also been outright lied to about the legality of these products by Chemist Warehouse employees, but it happened at Priceline too so you really cannot generalise by chain.

Completely OT but some of the rude idiots at Chemist Warehouse actually gave me 50 valium instead of 25 which is what the script was for. But this same place that records my ID for restavit also tried to argue I shouldn;t need them because I am on benzo's.

^ I don't really think its wise to start naming specific pharmacies we shop at, if you regularly buy codeine in the suburb you stated its a fair bet you wont be shopping at any of the same pharmacies as me anyway.

It varies whether I am well dressed and/or clean shaven, sometimes I am sometimes I am not, obviously it makes more sense ot try come across clean cut but the fact of the matter is my appearance should have no bearing whatsoever on how I am treated whilst purchasing an over the counter analgesic.

In israel we also have nurofen plus, two hundred mgs of ibuprofen with about 12.5mg of codeine per pill. Ten pills per box. I've bought a couple since I arrived here. I haven't done CWE since I figured its only two grams of ibuprofen per box. I don't think I'm going to keep doing it though.
