I thought I would put this http://www.erowid.org/experiences/exp.php?ID=17575 in here to enquire if anyone knows if it is worth doing?
I haven't been able to find any more info onine about smoking buscopan and tripping. The guy on erowid mentions buscopan helped him quit smoking, he was a moderate smoker.
Is it worth doing?
or is the guy on erowid talking b0ll0cks?
Many thanks

Buscopan acts as an anticholinergic, so in theory yes; if you can get it across the blood brain barrier it would be psychoactive.

The problems are twofold, firstly it doesn't readily cross the BBB. Will smoking change this? I don't see why it would, the N-butylbromide substitution is what prevents BBB diffusion, smoking won't remove this substituant. The only reason smoking *may* make a difference is by facilitating a higher peak plasma concentration of the drug, *some* buscopan will cross the BBB, greater p.p.conc will mean greater CNS conc. Maybe.

The second problem is the nature of the beast. Anticholinergics are neither fun or safe.

Is it worth trying? Doubtful. I certainly wouldn't recommend it, for safety's sake if nothing else.

While an oral ROA would definitely not produce effects due to the Blood Brain Barrier preventing the drug from entering, smoking would in fact work. Apparently, one of the pyrolisis products of butylsopolamine is actually scopolamine. Take a look at this: Formation of Scopolamine from N-Butyl-Scopolammonium Bromide in Cigarettes - http://jat.oxfordjournals.org/content/31/4/220.full.pdf
