Misc Butalbital high ?

as a huge benzos fan I would love to get my hands on some real barbs, which unfortunately are unbelievably hard to get in the UK :(

Butalbital is petty as it gets. I have not known anyone to ever use it recreationally, but whatever floats your boat.

Well I agree it has real euphoria but I disagree that it is way better than benzos, maybe the caffeine is to blame but when I try to think back to my first few times taking valium, I definitely enjoyed that more than butalbital. Of course back then I was suffering major anxiety which I no longer have, so that made benzos seem a lot better than they actually are. But I would also say that this stuff gives me some nausea at 150 mg which I never had with benzos and benzos gave me much more of a knockout/sleep effect (which again may be due to the caffeine).

I no longer use benzos becdause I too was prescribed them for years, developed a major dependency and now after years of being off them I still suffer from ringing in my ears and other withdrawal effects.

So in conclusion I would rank valium over butalbital in terms of rec value without any question. No nausea from valium, no banging into walls, just pleasant relaxation. The nice thing about butalbital though, is you can actually feel that you are high on it. One thing I used to hate about benzos is that after I had a tolerance, I would take some benzos, sometimes a lot of benzo, like 6 mg of clonazepam and not even be able to tell I was high.

ANother thing Id like to add about butalbital is I am shocked at how powerful it is. Usually in order to get high on a prescription drug you need to take several times the recommended starting dose. However, my prescription bottle says to take 1-2 pills every four hours. If I took 2 of these things every four hours, by the end of the day I would be totally out of it. Two pills gives me a major buzz and they last way longer than four hours so taking more that soon makes me seriously out of it, banging into walls, laughing for no reason, etc. I cant believe the recommended dose of some stupid little headache pill gets you that messed up.
