I personally know 3 people prescribed them... (Barbiturates), and two of those are prescribed butalbital AND codeine together.
All 3 have been given them in the past 6 months.
At least where I live, they are very often prescribed for migraine/tension/cluster headaches.
So it's curious that you say they're not often prescribed.
What country or state/province do you live in?
You're thinking of Fioricet w/ codeine which is one pill with all ingredients in one pill.
It would be rare to find someone rxd a barb and an opiate in two different pills together as nowadays benzos are used instead in those situations
(Example of something very unlikely: Phenobarbital and Oxycodone Rx'd simultaneously
Example of something more likely: Clonazepam and Oxycodone Rx'd simultaneously)
