bupe equivalence to oxy

People with a high tolerance to opioids mistakedly claim that buprenorphine isn't that recreational. Many people who have a low enough tolerance to opioids find that buprenorphine is very recreational. Of course if you're on Subutex/Suboxone maintenance or have just come off, you will have a tolerance and buprenorphine will not seem euphoric at all. As I said in another post, another reason why people may not find buprenorphine to be recreational is if they are injecting Suboxone (the naloxone does have some effect even at lower doses).

Can naloxone be separated from suboxone?

Damn, can't believe I never found this board until today.

There do seem to be a lot of people with chemistry backgrounds, which is relieving.

My question is, could there be a way to EXTRACT the naloxone from a suboxone?

My understanding is that there is only one part naloxone for every 4 parts of bupe, making it just enough of a deterrence.

But a quote from wikipedia:

Suboxone contains the opioid antagonist naloxone to deter illicit intravenous preparation of the tablet. This is intended to attenuate the effects of buprenorphine on opioid-naive users should this formulation be injected - however no human studies have been done demonstrating the efficacy of this approach with buprenorphine and a growing number of street reports indicate that the naloxone is ineffective.

So for anyone with the academic background, is there a way to extract or even just marginalize the naloxone into irrelevancy?

Is it possible this scenario is actually taking place already in light of the last quoted sentence in bold?

... Overall, its the best opioid for me to use on a daily basis. It supresses the need for any other drug, except the occasional benzo for meetings etc.
:D :D :D :D

Despite your posting of this almost a year ago, I couldn't help but notice this part of the wikipedia under the subjects of bupes as well.

Buprenorphine also has very high binding affinity for the μ receptor such that opioid receptor antagonists (e.g. naloxone) only partially reverse its effects. These two properties must be carefully considered by the practitioner, as an overdose cannot be easily reversed (although overdose is unlikely in addicts or people with tolerance to opioids who use the drug sublignually as meant in the case of Subutex/Suboxone, especially if there are no benzodiazepines involved)

I realize you're probably taking it in such small dosages that that it's not harmful. But what makes benzo's increase the liklihood of an OD on bupes? Is this similar to the love of clonazepam that some junkies adore due to how completely wasted they get? When I was a DU I personally couldn't handle more than 1-2mg of klonopin with a fix, as increases of it would make me start talking gibberish to myself and I would lose whole blocks of my memory. Very unsettling.

As far as them being equal its in terms of holding power, not in any way related to sedation or euphoria because there is nothing as far as euphoria being equaly asociated with buprenorphine.

My only experience with opiates of any kind is with Subutex and i enjoy it quite bit despite this lack of euphoria which even to me is notable. I obtained about 10 of the 8mg pills a while back and just crushed them all up and did tiny bumps which gave a nice relaxing high, bit of speed like talkativeness, and what i suppose was slight nodding effect. Unfortunate i never got as high after the first time due to tolerance, with any amount. It seems like once i got to a certain point no matter how much more i did there was no extra effect. As people have said even with small amounts there can be nausea, and everyone else who has tried it with me has had it in some way or another. But after the first time it doesn't seem as bad, and after a couple of times you can seem to handle bigger lines (this is even days after it has cleared out of the system).

I think this could be popular in the UK if it ever gets more easy to find as there is not any 'lighter' opiates than heroin readily available, obviously that coming with huge social stigma. Subutex to me doesn't even seem particularly addictive, even with the amount i had i wasnt too bothered just to wait for some occasion rather than just day in day out. Overall its one of my new favourite drugs since the lack of any negative side effects compared to the alternatives i could do such as speed. The only weird thing is every time on the day after i seem to get some strange lucid dreams i think they are called, i think something to do with the vastly deeper sleep it seems to put me in than normal.

bupe is more speedy, less euphoric, and has less of a painkilling / body high than oxycodone.

however here are the dose equivalence's i've experienced:

6mg bupe = 180-240mg oxycodone
4mg bupe = 140-180mg oxycodone
2mg bupe = 75-90mg oxycodone
1mg bupe = 35-60mg oxycodone
0.50mg bupe = 15-25mg oxycodone
0.25mg bupe = 7.5-15mg oxycodone

but of course you can't compare the two as one is a full agonist and one is a partial and the effects are much different than comparing hydrocodone and oxycodone for example.

Those are much closer to the figures I've seen on other websites. I've never seen anything that says 3.2mg of bupe would be equal to 40mg of oxy, though that would make me feel better since it would mean I'm only taking the equivalent of 15mg of oxy a day.

bumpidity dump. anyone have any approximate guesses on their experiences with buprenorphine and what doses = what dose of oxycodone??

^ other websites? do you agree or disagree with the figures i posted?

Agreeing, on a few other equivalency charts I've seen it say .4mg = 20mg of oxy (or something similar) and it seemed people were saying 2-3mg was around 40mg of oxy.

^ yeah that seems about right... i take 0.2mg twice a day. each dose i'd say is pretty equal to 10mg of morphine/oxycodone. IMO/IME they are pretty similar in strength when IV'd, but other people think oxy is 1.5x as strong, but i dont know about that...
