40 mg is a lot, From my experience and everything i've heard and read, it should start cancelling itself out at around 24 mg, but if he likes it, then who am I to tell him he's wrong(with all the newly "accredited" bupe doctors, it's probably easier for him to find suboxoe than oxy nowadays). Personally, I could never take that much, 8 is a lot for me, much more than that and I'll notice it even less than a much smaller(4 or 2 mg) dose. I never really noticed much euphoria at all though, but I'm using it to come down off a dope habit, so that's probably me. I'm sure someone with no habit could use it to get off. I would just be worried about how long it stays in your system.
If you had no tolerance whatsoever and took just 2 or 4 mg, you'd probably feel opiated, but it comes on slow(even insufflated, though you start to feel it after 15 mins, it still takes a while to get up to peak levels), and leaves your body even slower. You'd probably still be feeling it the next day even if you took it recreationally in the morning one day, and i don't mean still be high, but be coming down... headache, nausea, over-tired, anxiety, irritable... But to each his own, even when I'm done detoxing, I know I'll be saving at least a few(more to help with wd from any possible relapse than anything else), maybe someday I'll be clean, take one and completely change my mind about it. Who knows?

btw. swybs- That guy probably isn't getting wds after three days because he has so much in his system and it takes so long to leave. When I was coming down from eight to four, I did it in one step(one day 8 the next 4) and I felt great the first day, fine the next and then only the third day did I start to feel a lack of opiates in my system. My body adjusted pretty quickly after that, but really I thought I was actually sick(virus or cold), because I had been on four for a ouple days already, it too me a while to realize that it was the higher levels I took the week before being washed out that caused this.
