Television Breaking Bad

Yeah wtf, this episode was particularly short. But damn if I don't want to find out what happens next!

Fuck AMC. Here I am expecting an epic one hour forty-seven minute finale and it ends up being a hook to get you to watch the first episode of some show that doesn't even come out for about 2 months. Pretty fucked up if you ask me.

Besides that, the episode was great. Walt and Gus are due for a showdown that will blow the one he had with Tuco away. Too bad we have to wait an entire year to see it go down. The next season isn't coming out till June, July or August of next year.

Vince Gilligan confirmed that Gale is dead. The movement of the gun at the end was unintentional. Jesse has finally killed someone. He did say he was the bad guy in episode 301.

It wouldn't really have made sense if Jesse had just pulled the trigger and not shot Gail. There would have been no reason other than to confuse the viewer.

It was weird seeing Walt beg before Mike and Viktor (I'm glad they finally gave these characters names!). I don't think he's looked that weak or desperate the entire series. Was smart and cool when he called Jesse and told him that he was hostage and Jesse had to kill Gail. Or I just liked how you could see him regain composure and confidence.

Definitely felt bad for Jesse though. He didn't even want Walt to do it, much less be forced to pull the trigger himself. If there's one thing I've learned about killing people from watching TV, it's that you don't look into the eyes of the person you're killing. Jesse was in a bad head space this season, I can't imagine him next season.

Edit: Upon second viewing, I don't think Jesse moves the gun at all. It's just the camera moving from looking at Jesse from an angle to looking straight at him and looking down the barrell of the gun.

I agree, after watching the encore it's clearly a camera pan. They probably could have done that better, though.

Agreed. It was still a cool shot, but it was somewhat confusing.

I think Gail is the most innocent person to have gotten killed thus far.

I also think it's interesting that after all this time Jesse still calls Walter "Mr. White". Seems like he clearly feels like he's Walt's subordinate.

Yeah, that Rubicon shit was dumb. :\

The finale was great. I wouldn't call Gail innocent by any means, but I understand what you're saying. I love how Jesse steps up and finally kills to protect Walt. Gus is one calculating motherfucker and now Walt's got some time and he knows it. Great episode, I'm glad to say I watch this show.

Good episode.

I'm a bit confused though; what is Gus' requirement to have Walt and Jesse dead?

So they won't talk? To get them back for killing his dealers? Why not just tell them no more business and let them walk?

Is he just angry at them and is simply a killer who wants them dead?

I also really hate Mike now. I used to like him but he acts like he's invincible, one minute he's their friend and ally, the next he's about to kill them. I hope he gets popped.

When Walt tells him "You don't have to do this." to which he replies "Unfortunately Walter I do." I wish I had gotten an answer as to "Why?"

I think he's rightfully furious. In the episode "Half measures" (second to last), Gus sets up a meet to put Combo's death behind his organization. Jesse does his own shit anyway, despite Gus's instructions to end the matter. Out of some torn sense of loyalty, Walter saves Jesse's life and complicates Gus's even more. Gus has to clean it all up in the end. Walter has made enough money that Gustavo feels he has the right to do how he pleases regarding his "cook". Too bad he's wrong in this instance.

Actually, I find it hard to believe that two dead corner boys would be that much of a problem for Gus. I think he ordered the boy killed because he knew Jesse would confront the dealers. Gus never wanted Jesse involved in his organization and was probably looking for a way to get rid of him from the beginning. All of Gus's actions are deliberate and driven by business rather than passion.

I think it's more of a last straw situation.

Walt continuously keeps bailing Jesse out, depsite the fact that Gus doesn't like Jesse and it's been interferring with their business.

There was also that episode where Walt missed the week of cooking because he lied about being the hospital with his DEA brother in law.

Gus warned him when he had Walter over for dinner. He could let Walt and Jesse walk, but from a leader and power standpoint, that would make Gus look weak. It'd look like you could screw the boss and walk away unscathed. Not something you can really do when you're talking millions in illegal goods. Plus, Walt and Jesse know way too much about the operation for them to just be fired. As is Jesse wanted to go to the DEA and look into witness protection.

I enjoyed the last episode, it had a decent amount of action. It was way better than lame fucking episodes where they spend the whole time trying to catch a fly.

fuckin jesse. finally grabs with balls. im proud of him. he finally had the balls to do what needed to be done. i cant wait to see what goes down next year.

bryan cranston has the award for best actor in the bag again this year. he is at the top of his game in this show. he truly brings walter white to life. i have such high expectations for the show and though there are episodes here and there with less action. over all it the most pleasing show on television ive ever watched.

this season finale was way better than last seasons. best show on tv. easily.

Best series this year. Lost should have been the best but it ended so badly.

It's going to be a long wait until the next season but it will be worth it :)
