The season two opener was excellent. The direction of the show stands out, once again. It looks like things are about to get much more chaotic/dangerous for the main characters in the show, and I certainly think that's a good thing. Last season dragged on at times.
Just as an aside. I thought it funny when Tuco was so surprised at the beginning of the show(actually end of last season) that the meth they had cooked was blue. I've actually seen and smoked blue meth. The shards were bluish, it melted down bluish, and the smoke was tinted blue. It was also incredibly fucking potent.
Maybe this isn't all that unusual, it's just that the character acted like it was unheard of(yes I know it's a TV show.) Anyone else ever seen blue meth?
Also, my only other complaint about the shows portrayal of meth and meth abuse is the size of the hits that the characters take. Anyone that knows much of anything about meth knows it's possible to create enormous clouds of smoke from one hit of meth. When one of the characters takes a hit of the fake meth the smoke blown out is comparable to a small toke of bud, at most. Hopefully they correct that so my former tweeker brain can appreciate the show a little more.
