Breakfast

I start the morning with about 20-30 oz of water. This wakes me up just as well as coffee. Grain of some type and fruit after the water. Eggs are pretty good too. I think what I ate the night before plays into what is best in the morning.

I take thyroid meds in the morning so I have to wait some time before I can eat, which by then I forget cuz I am not hungry, then next thing I know its lunch and I am starving. Lunch is the only meal I eat. I know its not healthy but I am just not hungry plus I don't cook and I have a phobia of the grocery store.

n3o, tbh i really don't remember. all i know is that i didn't actively go after fibre rich mueslis like i do now. doubt it was anything like cocopops. corn flakes perhaps.

I' ve been getting into the habit of taking the babies for a walk (long, uphill walk) after breakfast, so I feel like I do need some carbs and protein.....right?

With my limited knowledge of nutrition I would say carbs beforehand, protein afterwards. You should still get enough energy for a long uphill walk with two pieces of wholegrain toast for breakfast. You probably wouldn't need more than that. Then you could have something more substantial after you get back.
If I have anything heavier than toast or a museli-bar (granola bar) before exercising, I get a stitch.

By the way, that is a great habit to get in to! :)

Sorry I am jumping in to this thread late but I felt I had to make a correction. M_M, the body does not enter ketosis in one night, especially not in a matter of hours. It takes minimum 2 days for the body to go in to ketosis, and then its only when the body is starved of carbs. Thats why body builders will go on strict protein diets and starve themselves of carbs, that way they can still build muscle and not starve, but they'll be able to burn fat. Ketosis is not healthy and should not be your goal.

As to the vegemite, its very hard to find here in the US, you really have to know where to look for it. Actually it was even illegal to import up until about 2 or 3 years ago due to an ingredient in it (some kind of acid I think). I dont know if the FDA changed their standards or if the ingredient was removed, but thats why you'll find that when you aussies mention "vegemite" many americans will have no idea what you are talking about ;)

Thanks for clearing that up re: ketosis hun, I thought so...

In fact, I sent over a small jar to PIP and ocean last year, and in return ocean sent me some Lucky Charms because we don't get that in Aus :)
If I recall correctly, ocean hated the vegemite and PIP didn't mind it :)

It's physiologically impossible to put on muscle and lose fat at the same time. It's possible to gain muscle at a faster rate than fat, causing a decrease in overall BF%, but it's not within our biology to put on muscle at the same time as reducing fat. When bodybuilders cut they are losing muscle too.

I like to eat 800-1k cals for breakfast, made up of some sort of combination involving the following: bread, oatmeal, quinoa, eggs, milk, whey, fruit, nuts, yogurt, noodles, meal replacement or granola bar. Basically I just stuff as much as I can into my face for about 45minutes.

Thats actually what I meant, you are correct. I should have said "so that they can maintain muscle while still losing fat."

Okay word :) I just wanted to clarify because pretty much everyone I talk to wants to put on muscle and lose fat or "turn their fat into muscle." and it's sort of hard trying to get across the fact that to gain size at all you need a caloric surplus and that will include putting on lard.

A large bowl of Oats With a heaping spoon full of Peanut butter,Tall glass of water and some beer. Not a lot,Just enough.
How could I Level up my breakfast?

^ "Level up" as in make it more nutritious? Add some fruit (dried or fresh, like raisins or bananas) into the oatmeal. Cook the oatmeal in milk (never done it in cow's, but it tastes good in hemp milk). Crush some raw, unsalted nuts and top the oatmeal with that. And subtract the beer. :P

hemp milk ftfw. its the best veggie based milk i've ever tried...and i've been at if for a long time :)

I love soy milk and almond milk, but never tried hemp milk, is it similar to either of those?

I think raw milk is still my favorite :) <3 mmm

Mehm, which brand do you drink? And do you get the unsweetened? Tried a different brand's unsweetened (normally go with Living Harvest Tempt) and I don't know how I feel about it yet.

Fizzle, unsweetened hemp milk has a much nuttier/"gamey" flavor compared to soy milk. It may be close to almond milk--I tried unsweetened almond milk and was not a fan. You should pick up a carton and try it. It's a bit pricey but it's gooooood.

I think you are forgetting that some competitive bodybuilders on fizzles 'strict protein diet' (lmao) are supraphysiological levels of androgens including synthetic androgens such as trenbolone (5x as potent an androgen as testosterone) as well as fat burning drugs such as GH, IGF, T3 and T4, clenbuterol, etc.
