That's an awesome mix of bands, kudos :)

I saw the Beat a year or two ago, it was a good, energetic, fun show.

311 and Ballyhoo in columbus! mid-march cant come soon enough.

Yeah, I was thinking March was too far away to post about, but since you did... :)

311 at The National in Richmond! I'm pretty excited. Capacity at this newly reopened venue is 1600, so by far the most intimate setting I've ever seen 311 in. Definitely rekindled my 311 fire, which dwindles over time, especially when they're putting out crappy records.

Also, Citizen Cope at the Norva next week and Blue Man Group at JPJ in Charlottesville 2/16.

Nothing definite for me so far, but here's some shows I have on my to do list:

Yonder Mountain String Band on Feb. 17th
The Wailers on 3/02
Van Halen & Ky-Mani Marley on 3/07 (how fuckin' weird of a bill is that lol?)
Rehab 4/04

other than that not much to look forward to until summer

5/10 B.B. King in Myrtle Beach
7/12 Tom Petty

^^man i wish i could go back to myrtle beach sometime soon. i used to go there when i was a kid and the last time i went was summer of '01, the end of my senior year of high school. so much fun and so nice down there. and it would be so much better since im over 21 now.

i havent seen your name in a long time. nice to see you around! :D

(now) funny story about a 311 concert i went to when i was 17-18 years old. i was up near the stage like usual havin a great time when all the sudden a group of about 10 people all fall over landing on each other and im in there as well. turns out i lose BOTH my shoes. i only got socks on when i come out of the pile. well that was about 5 or so songs in on the set list. so i have to walk around in socks all night, randomly stepping on lit cigarette butts. thinking it couldnt get any worse, it does and i realize there was a $50 dollar bill in my shoe.

well at the end of the show my friends and i stay around and they look for my shoes. they found em both!! :D the money was still there as well.

point being, anything can pretty much happen at a 311 show and im gonna have a great fuckin time!! i dont like their new shit, and hope they change my mind about that w/ the album theyre working on now, but theres not much that keeps me away from a 311 show.

Saw LCD Soundsystem last thursday and was very, very impressed.

Two weeks time is Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings

Sonic Youth performing Daydream Nation with The Scientists doing Red Red River soon.

^Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings are awesome.

I caught the first and last nights of Wilco's five night residency. Words really just can't describe how well they are playing right now. They are practically channeling The Band. Saw a lot of songs I really had been wanting to see. Tweedy mentioned a couple of times during the last night how they want to do the residency again next year.
