Oh, I guess I should mention I've got tickets to the first night and last night of Wilco's five night residency at the Riv in Chicago next February.

Actually, on second thought, I'd rather go to a DJ Shadow gig and hear him talk too much. ;)

Probably going to be hitting up Megadeth's GIGANTOUR again this year. The lineup this year is:

Megadeth
In Flames
Children of Bodom
Job for a Cowboy
High on Fire

While the lineup doesn't knock me over, there are two reasons why I am hyped about this year's Gigantour.

1. I like every band on the bill. Thus I can get there at the beginning of the show and not have to sit through any bullshit.

2. The venue (at least for the New York date) is much smaller than last year. This lineup gets even better since the show is at a place that holds about 2,000, instead of a huge arena - last year Nassau Coliseum (Uniondale, Long Island), this year Hammersetin Ballroom (NYC).

so yeah, I'll be attending Gigantour on April 22nd, 2008 @ Hammerstein Ballroom, NYC...

drawbacks: tickets are $41.50. :( That's going to be a cool $50 after Ticketmaster is done with their raping. It's annoying because I'm not even a huge Megadeth fan, and it's their name that adds so much money to the ticket. Take Megadeth off that bill and that's a $25-28 show. :p

Explosions in the Sky - April 1

SUNDAY, APRIL 6TH
AT: THE CRAZY DONKEY (Farmingdale, NY)
EXPLOSIONS IN THE SKY

I'm hyped for this. Right in my backyard, and only $15. I'm curious to see what kind of crowd they draw.

I was pretty interested in going to one of the Shadow shows (Jan. 26 and 27th are the dates in NYC), but the price tag is a little hefty (upwards of $40 after Ticketmaster), and there are a decent amount of other shows I want to go in the near future. :(
