Television Boardwalk Empire

Even though there was no Chalky, Harrow, or Van Alden in this last episode it was still one of the best imo
This scene alone was perfection, not ashamed to say it brought tears upon mine eyes

Also, the Roland kid did have moxy, he actually was very charming and reminded me of Jimmy in a way
That's pretty much the only reason why I seriously doubted Nuck would let him go, but I wasn't so sure either way there for a minute

I thought for a second he was going to be a regular on the show. They really fooled me.

The show seems to be three shows this season. The New York and Chicago sideshows don't seem to be connected to New Jersey at all any more.

^ Yeah I'm definitely getting sick of the muy cheeldren
I usually just switch over and browse BL or 4chan until her scenes are over

Also I wonder if they will follow irl occurrences this season and show Lucky selling out and having Joe the boss whacked

also: EXPERT ADVICE: fast forward all the Kelly MacDonald scenes

Yessss

This season has been very good, much better than I expected it to be after they killed Jimmy off. He was basically the only interesting thing they had going last season (besides Manny Horrowitz), but Gyp Rossetti brings it every night. Also, the show seems to be moving focus away from Margaret, which is good because she isn't really necessary to anything and dominated the screen time last year (where they totally ruined a once promising character, IMO). Even Eli seems interesting thus far. I think this season is going to be the best so far. I think they found out where the show was most flawed, and where it was strongest, and are sticking to the strong stuff as much as they possibly can. Kudos to them for not being stubborn.

Dat auto erotic asphyxiation loving, bloody dick having Gyp
Dat fucking Eddie Cantor
Dat simple folk Milky and Dunn
Dat down to ride lovely Norwegian waifu: I hold legs
Dat maniacal laughing Benny (Bugsy) Siegel

10/10 episode, I even liked Margaret in this one, she basically called Billie a whore just by handing her the flyer
Oh and I'm really liking Stephen Root's character, his dialogue is clever as fuck and the dude he is playing is based on a real guy named Gaston Means he was an American private detective, salesman, bootlegger, forger, swindler, murder suspect, blackmailer, and con artist

I think it's the details like this that really separate Boardwalk Empire from other programming. A lazier show would have simply had Nucky shoot the kid and think that was enough in itself to evolve his role as 'full gangster'. Instead they spend an hour establishing a likable character who could easily have a recurring role on the show, only to have Nucky shoot him dead, by himself, in the back.

I want to say more about this show but I'll just leave it at a general rainbow blown up its behind to save time for now.

god i love boardwalk empire. richard harrow was so goddamn frightening in the last episode, i sorely missed him. this just has to lead to nucky making him his top enforcer, because no one else is up to the job.

also al capone beating the guy to death felt strangely sweet.

Kind of slow episode compared to the recent episodes, I mean wtf no one even got murdered lol
Looks like Harrow might finally get some poon though and I enjoyed Esther Randolph's scene, she is basically my favorite female character on the show so I'm glad she's back

Oh and I was just thinking, this show is set in the roaring 20's and I don't think anyone has been cut down with a tommy gun yet.
I was pretty sure it's totally quintessential to have people getting murdered with thompson sub machine guns in old gangster type shows like this...

Can't wait for the next episode, I keel dem ahll

^I'm pretty sure the guys who ambushed the convoy had some tommy guns on them. ;)

I'm wondering how Gyp is going to react to his attempted assassination. I'm also interested in how Lucky Luciano is gonna deal with Joe Masseria.

^ Well if you seen the preview of the next ep and given Gyp's attitude, it would be standard for him to want to keel dem ahl, lol like I quoted

And yeah if they go by historical facts we all know whats going to eventually happen to Joe the boss, but I don't think he was whacked until the early 30's iirc, but who knows, of course they don't have to stick to the factual events

^lol yeah Gyp is going to go all crazy sicilian on them haha

That's what I meant. I'm interested in how they are going to approach this. Will they stick with history or whack Joe earlier to mix things up a bit. Either way it will be interesting.

IMO I think they are gonna show Joe's attempted assassination that happened in 1922. The guy got shot at from point blank range multiple times and they all missed. That would be an interesting episode.

The whore in Chicago who got her face cut up and then killed herself?
Yeah that was Jimmy's bitch

Harrow ended up sniping the rival gangster, who cut her face up, for Jimmy though
That scene is awesome too, Jimmy's story and then right after the shot it cuts to Harrow hastily wrapping up his rifle to that well known sinister sounding church organ theme

Edit: found the scene on youtube

I'm trying to get into this as my friends have been banging on about it. Struggling after 3/4 episodes but I've been told it's a slow burner...worth sticking with?
