Bluelighters discuss recent greenlights

True, I know LE is around, but I meant moreso things like Facebookchat/AIM/etc. Some people are afraid to even use slang terms for drugs thinking that there's some program that will pick up the word and start logging all their chats. Plus, thats why we all use handles or at most give out our first names. This is also why we don't post things about acquiring drugs/etc, and just using them. Overall, I think people are a little too paranoid about even saying a drug name or discussing an experience on the internet, which they really shouldn't be.

well those people have no reason of being paranoid. like a guy i know that ingested p2p fumes and had o call the poison center then destroyed his cell cause he thought the dea will track him afterwards. lol

thank you very much. and yes, in north america law enforcement has people trolling forums all the time they got nothing better to do.

I hope you are kidding or being sardonic. On the other hand, law enforcement has some really gung ho fuckers that love to mess up or prevent a good buzz. :p

tragically, there are a crap-ton of beautiful and potentially productive people here languishing in prisons because of the insatiable greed of american law enforcement, and drug use is their favorite scapegoat. still, i don't get too noided about discussing drugs. i entertain the delusion that i'm too remote and too small potatoes to be worth their time.

oh no im dead serious. i know a couple of people who got caught from talking online.

Thanks for the input. I'll remember that.
I do like to think I am too small potatoes for cops to fuck with.
But I've seen them fuck with friends, fuck with friends of friends, rough people up pretty seriously, bully people, and chase people, just for the fun of it.

Also, I thought if you asked a person buying drugs if he or she's a cop, they had to tell you. NO that is PURE bullshit. They lie and say "of course not" and lead you straight to jail.

At the last massive near me, there were tons of undercover cops asking ravers, "you rollin?" If they got a yes, they offered more e and led the rollers directly into police wagons waiting nearby. One person I know sold e at Coachella to an undercover cop. Fucked up his weekend GOOD. And he only had a few tabs, it wasn't like he was selling major packs or anything.

no but the more busts cops have the better it looks on their records. thats how they get promotions. and just for talking about drug chemistry and such they can get you for conspiracy.

That's a good point, Shaman. Yea I guess the numbers would definitely decide who gets promoted to sergeant.

I had not thought about that aspect of it.

It still leaves cops worrying about their checks.
They should just swear at the beginning to worry about their checks
instead of the "serve and protect"
they promise
cuz that's a lie.

If Prop 19 passes in California, it will be in court forever. Wouldn't it be SWEET to not have to worry about drug tests anymore? If they took weed off the illegal list that would be one less thing to worry about when job hunting.

The older people right now, the retired cops out there who spent the whole 60s and 70s and 80s putting kids in jail for smoking weed, do NOT want Prop 19 to pass. They spent their entire careers, bought homes and cars, went on nice vacations, put their kids through college, etc. etc. etc. on the sentences of kids arrested for smoking marijuana. Their opinion (I know a few 80somethings) is so deep within them that they won't countenance any argument, nor do they want to see proof of marijuana's relative harmlessness compared to the martinis they drink.
sad.

And there is something kinda strange about the influx of newbies with really detailed situations. That's my point. Like wanting to know if "we" think a person should risk bringing weed home from Holland... wtf? It's illegal right? What if I had said, "Sure I think it's a wonderful idea!"? That's in print forever somewhere and I find myself getting caught up. It's possible that some of the questions are planted.
imho.

I've been a bit freaked out for the past week cuz the mobile site has been taking much longer to load for me.

The threads asking for slang terms send up immediate red flags to me.

Some of the detailled questions may be from kids who just started college and found bluelight...

This was actually my guess...it's the end of October, if school started in late August/early September for most, and they are away from home for the first time, it seems like they have been minimally exposed to things and have some detailed questions. They may have made some friends and connections, and are just curious before trying anything new.

The slang terms I would probably search on google first...being from NY, I had no clue what "thizz" meant for example and learned that first joining BL...maybe I'm just trying to give the noobs the benefit of the doubt, but I'm also going off of several things I've seen/closed/commented on in CD.

you really have nothing to worry about posting about this stuff on here unless you are either buying, selling or manufacturing and the pigs are interested in you already and have an eye on you. besides that ffel free to post since to monitor someone online costs them an arm and a leg and they wont do it unless u're of an interest to them to begin with.

Ugly. so many ppl are just plain 'rude' nowadays, don't wanna peek out the door. Nets just another place for these types to cause a problem. sure you know that but felt like chiming in ^_^

and thats true about the online talk bust because it happened to someone here who happened to use a word that then singled them out for attention.
this is why its best to develop your telepathic powers *_*

Hi ugly,

If you are getting a 4chan vibe from Bluelight, it's probably because you've been spending some time in the Lounge, where many regulars are familiar with or active on 4chan. Perhaps you might enjoy the more 'serious' social forums such as Second Opinion? The Lounge can get a little bit ribby and rude from time to time, but I would say the majority of posters aren't trying to be mean and the mods do a very good job in there keeping the real crapola out without crossing into censorship.

Yes, absolutely, there is law enforcement (LE) that surfs Bluelight just as with other forums where people talk about drugs. Hypothetically speaking, it may not be the best idea to write about that fat sack of whatever you just scored or similar.

More or less, if you're not using the site to deal, find hookups/sources, or if like many Bluelighters you are sober from everything that is not legal, you'll find a lot of knowledgeable people and maybe even a few friends here that you will have for a lifetime. :)

Don't egg on the bullies and take things into context. That Lounge regular who just called you a bitch might have done so affectionately ;) Such behavior wouldn't be tolerated in other parts of Bluelight.

I hope your BL experience is a positive one. There are loads of BLers in California (check the "Roll Call" thread) with whom you'd probably have some common ground, be it musical taste, favorite (legal) hobbies, and much, much more.

I am retired staff - it may be best to consult with an existing staff member you trust to get a better idea of the "Bluelight Experience" - which I have found, is exactly what you make of it. :)

and just for talking about drug chemistry and such they can get you for conspiracy.
that's not really true. a conspiracy requires two things: an agreement to commit a crime; some act in furtherance of the crime.

just discussing chemistry is not a crime. yet.

Our biggest impact on increasing drug safety at large is through new people coming through. The mission oriented answer on noobs is that they are the reason we are here. A few of them may have already come with a strong foundation in harm reduction, and a few may pass through without gaining much. An exponential growth in harm reduction comes about the most often when people unfamiliar with safety principles and techniques encounters a harm reduction community.

Bluelight as a clubhouse that defines itself by who gets included or excluded, that hazes and confers social standing is really not very important compared to the mission oriented BL imo. That's why there have been concerted efforts to embrace and mentor noobs instead of tormenting them or squashing them.

I do understand frustration with new comers. Even closed door clubs that only let new people enter in trickles experience irritation with new people. Bluelight is open door and mission oriented. Established norms and inside jokes are constantly going to be poked, prodded, and violated. Some people are going to pass through that are nothing but trouble.

Maybe someday there could be a social forum that requires a fee to support the site. Admission decreases the throughput of people with no real investment. It would be complicated to implement but very likely people irked by noobs would have an area with far less new people passing through.

I think the current greenlighters have been a good crop........lonewolf was green not too long ago, as well as several others that have contributed many good Trip Reports. Of course a few have been trollish to an extent, but the swift banhammer fixes that :) One problem is the RC "scene" in the Uk at the moment.......kookoo for cocopuffs( in this instance 6-APB, 5-IAI overhype, lack of real testing, etc.).

i like that you said "greenlights" instead of greenlighters

there have being a brokelight and a redlight but having a greenlight for greenlighters only sounds interesting ; )

Personally, as a relatively young and uninformed bluelighter, I find greenlighters' questions which can be easily answered with a google search and a little research on wikipedia and erowid very usefull in my own education. Teaching others is one of the best ways to learn and I get a literally endless supply of possible topics I can read up on and then put into my own words to help those greenlighters out. The repeated questions help me reinforce the more common drug concepts and when other bluelighters chime in on a thread which I researched and attempted to help out with I am sure to get a new perspective and new information on the topic which I may have missed.

Keep up the enthusiasm greenlighters and if you old bluelighters are annoyed with an overasked question just let a young bluelighter like me have a stab at it. Another discussion on the oral bioavailablity of hydromorphone may be an annual occurrence for the veterans, but for those who are gathering information, making arguments, and using their minds to better understand drugs, it can be infinitely more valuable then just having a thread closed with a link to a 5 year old post which says 1/4th IV strength.
