Bluelight weekly photography contest Round 47: Seasons - Autumn (Fall), 2007

These photos are beautiful! I just love autumn, sadly where I live we don't have an autumn as such, its only slightly cooler and we don't really get the whole autumn colours thing going on .. spring is probably the nicest season in Queensland.

Curses! The trees here simply will not cooperate. The maples, typically producing the best display of colours, are still green as green can be. The other varieties seem to be going straight from green to ground. It's foggy today. Maybe when the fog clears, they'll all be red, orange and yellow as in DG's fantastic shot.
 
Yeah I took my photo at a town called Bright here and it is reknowned for it's Autumn colours because of all the frosts they get. But because of the lack of rainfall over god knows how many years the colours just sucked. So my photo was a compromise :)

And sorry for the self-pity, I meant it more jokingly. With all the great colourful entries this round I thought that I'd go in a different direction.
 
^that tree in the middle is very nice (do you know what is it)
it looks like a "Bouleau" (sorry not sure about the translation)
do the leave turn to colors eventually,
