I dont own a cat either... bugger. Thats a hard theme for all the non-cat owners

same here.

oh well...if you are having a cat round I expect a dog round afterwards!!:p

'pets' or 'animals.' they can be 2 very different things..... :)

no i dont think we should combine...the cat lovers will always win regardless. I like having "cats" and "dogs" seperate but thats just me.

if we have mixed animal threads, people may vote for the animals they prefer rather than photos.

just a thought

i agree :(

I can certainly agree that some people will find some "pets" species more charismatic than others. The magic though is in the eye, the lens and hence the photo. That's how I look at it. This is a photo contest after all. Also, now that we've opened the whole "if there's Cats, then there should be Dogs" can of worms, then I can see how pet owners of other species will feel left out too. Do we then have Fish, Snakes & Lizards, Mice, Roos... wait, or do we separate Snakes from Lizards? I think you can see where I'm going with this. Once the cat's out of the bag...

Once a few of you mentioned "pets" or "animals" as an alter theme, it just seemed more logical, more inclusive and more fair to all involved. No?

no? no.

i would actually like a seperate dog, fish, bird and reptile comps. The latter three don't necessarily mean pets.

I don't have any pets where i live btw, and will have to visit my folks to see my boys (cats).
Up to you SmellyAlien. You're the driver.

1. Why would you say that fish, birds and reptiles don't qualify as pets?
2. If you don't have any pets where you're at anyway and will have to scour the streets for homeless alley cats, then get started, get on your way and see what you come back with. Who knows, we might have to make a Chia Pet thread just for you! =D

Chi-Chi-Chi-Chia! :p

oh what i mean is, you can have a fishing shot, or catch a nice bird or reptile shot while bushwalking or something, and yet they would not be anyone's pets then would they?

2.i just spent the day at my folks' and got a tonne of shots of my boys to just add to the massive database i already have making selection for a cat theme fucking difficult. :X ;) :p

Cat's are so photogenic, it's almost too easy. My blue russian immediately crawled inside the cardboard coverings for my peruvian torch cuttings once the cactus was out, and he wore it around his body all day. My girlfriend's cats now are lesbians too, I have some shots of hot hot kitty on kitty action (seriously, oral sex in cats :o)
