Apologies for the larger than usual file size.

I love the cat photo.
And with my photo i didn't do anything but change it to black and white (the chimps). That same day i took the most beautiful photo of a human baby (about a year old) put it's little hand up against the glass and a baby chimp put his hand up to the class just as a snapped the photo. I was using a digital camera at the time (my 1st out of 3 digital cams) and when i looked at the picture i gasped and Quickly showed to the parents of the child. The mother actually started to cry and said "I can't believe you just took that photo, it's beautifu). I than asked for the permission to use the photo since there was a minor in it and the parents said sure long as i e mailed a copy.

Well i lost the darn photo when my external drive crashed. Why i didn't get that copied and pic of the two chimps cuddling i don't know. Makes me so mad. I have a actual 8x10 of it somewhere so i can scan it but i have no idea where it is.

It's probably the most beautiful photo I've ever taken in my 20 years taking photo's. The baby hand was right up to the baby chimps hand (protected by glass of course) and both infants looked right at each other in the eyes and they were both about the same size. I got it at the right angle just at the right moment. I'd give anything to have that photo back.

I emailed it to the parents who were on vacation from Australia but never heard back from them. I wanted to send them paperwork for them to sign so i could use the photo and sell it like i did my other photo's. I wanted more than a verbal 'ok'. Oh well, i can't find the photo anyway. The baby is probably about 6 or 7 now.

I'm hoping that someday my external drive will get fixed. My uncle is working on it but only knows about PC's and can't find a Mac to fix it so someday i gotta just take it to the Mac store i guess (it was formatted on a mac). But it's gonna be damn pricey.

I had over 8000 photo's on that hard drive along with family photo's. Photo's of pets that are long gone. Makes me so mad when i think about all the photo's i lost. I still cry about it to this day.

Anyway, that would have been a photo i think you all would have loved.

^^Painful reminder of why it's vital to back up EVERYTHING you value on your computer, especially photos (and music for me) more than once. Some of my photo instructors have told us that they have everything backed up onto multiple external harddrives and then have those copied onto CDs.

Definitely one of the biggest downfalls to the digital era, the fragility of it all. You can store 35mm negs in plastic sleeves and they'll stay put for decades, but store a file in your harddrive and it's only a matter of time before it goes kaput (and they all do eventually).

SA.. Yup, I'll hold onto that Drive until i find some genus to fix it and i can affordit. My uncle says his computer says there IS about 40 gigs used i think. But his computer can't read that amount that is used but that IS SOMETHING on it. That is very important. So i just need the right person to find the Data.

All i did one night was restart my computer because it had frozen (an Blue iMac at the time) and when it started back up the icon for my external drive had just vanished BOOM. No matter how many time i unplugged it than plugged it back in the icon just wouldn't show up. I did take it to an off-the-wall small kind of computer shop but he couldn't fix it but told me there WAS SOMETHING on it. That's when i flew it up to Unlce for him to look at but he only knows PC's but he works on it in his spare time. I think I'll have him just ship it back down to me so when i have some extra cash i can get it to the right type of person/place to retrieve the data. Although i hear it's like 2-Grand or something. DAMN!!

I wish i had backed up that stuff. Thanfully a lot of my fav photo's i had stored on line somewhere but i lost like 75% of my photo's. I was so mad that night it first happened, i cried and drank some wine i was so mad.
