I'll go to the library and pick up the book hopefully today. I wish I could read a book online, but it hurts my eyes. :(

I'm looking forward to this! :D

Hey guys:

ISBN 0-451-52924-3

$5.95 U.S.

I walked into a chain bookstore and pulled it right off the shelf.

Alright ladies and gentleman, the bluelight book club is in full effect. we will be discussing the book the mysterious stranger starting on the 24th of November. Look out for the new thread around that time. It advisable to read at least 25 pages a week so as not to fall behind. good luck everyone I am looking forward to discussing this with you all.

all the books i chose are older so you can find them at used book stores pretty easily. most likely under 5 dollars if you need to purchase one. It is usually in a mark twain collected works.

here is a link to the story online in its entirety:

Whew, I'm glad I came back in time. I'd almost forgotten about this. Thanks for the online link, I'll start reading it tonight.

edit: As far as the actual book selection goes... I'm not sure if I understand the process. You said there were 22 entires and 6 were chosen? Where are the entries? And why 6? Is that just an arbitrary number? I'm not sure if I like the idea of having 6 months worth of books lined up in advance. I would prefer it if each month we all made suggestions and decided on a new book, maybe everybody could vote on it. Just my thoughts.

I asked during the process for suggestions for books. i recieved 22 suggestions. then i assigned a number for each one and had a third party randomly select numbers. It seemed the only fair way to get the books. I only chose 6 books so that we can do the process again. This is how its going to go for now. after the 6 months or if we get major dissent then i will change it until then....

Oh. Well I'm really dissappointed... I would have liked to have the opportunity to vote each month. Deciding 6 months in advance just kind of makes it less exciting. I'm sorry to say that I won't be participating then. No hard feelings at all, I hope you guys have fun. :)
