Bloc Roll Call!!!

This dickhead here!

I'll be getting the train down to London in relaxed style on the Thursday. Staying with friend and his gf in Hackney.

Absent, although I might conceivably pass you at the airport on Sunday in which case I'll be sure to jump out at you in a scream mask.

I still don't know where we're staying. My mate & his bird live in London, he's said we're welcome to stay but that his flat is so small he doesn't even have a couch lol. I think we're just gonna book a hostel or some shit.

You'll get cut.

Same deal here, my London pal has a sofa and a floor, and another pal is coming from Chinley near Manc. So fisticuffs at dawn for the sofa. I win by default being an old cunt.

Oh aye, we're only doing Bloc on the Friday as my mate wants to save pennies and one night is probably enough anyway! So if you want a dance, PT, Friday's your only chance!

That's no so bad, there's gonna be 4 or 5 of us attempting to sleep in this flat (along with the 2 who live there), I don't think we'll even fit!

I got some good links for apartments & shit to rent (Cheers mate ;)) which seemed like the best plan but my mates are all just shouting fuck it - book a hostel. So I guess that's what we'll be doing.

Here, here

Arriving thursday, either coach of train staying at a mates close to the Olympic stadium and strolling to and from there, leaving home on monday.

Just seen it got voted RA's number 1 festival in london.. its looking like a gooden, hope the weathers good.

01. Bloc
July 6 - July 7
London Pleasure Gardens
London, UK

Since Bloc announced they were moving on from the template of their much-loved festival, the voices of dissent have gradually turned to shrieks of anticipation. Butlins holiday park in Minehead in March was to be swapped for a July date at London Pleasure Gardens, a sixty thousand square-metre space at the city's Victorian Docklands designed by Shangri-La of Glastonbury fame and Mutate Britain. The main stage is being described as a "gargantuan…monolithic auditorium," surrounded by steel shipping containers; the second stage, The Hub, is an acoustically treated geodesic dome (hosted by RA), with the DJ stationed in its centre; and the MS Stubnitz, an 80 metre long GDR fishing vessel, will dock at the site to host two rooms of music. Not to be outdone by the spectacle of the venue, the bill runs the entire gamut of electronic music, from Orbital to Richie Hawtin and Flying Lotus, to Amon Tobin, A.T.O.L., Ricardo Villalobos and countless others besides.

RA pick: Pioneering minimalist composer Steve Reich will headline the RA stage on the Friday.

Gonna give them walterz a blast after a few triforces and some ket, probally end up there raving to some acid for most of the night, I can tell im gonna get lost just by looking at it, I always end up on my own even in small clubs lost, anyway im sure a quick swim from the mainstage to the express bar is quicker than that long walk around, or even a dive in from the top of the stubnitz.

Why on earth have I somehow not heard about this? The lineup's phenomenal, apart from sodding Orbital.

EDIT: Who I love, but I don't like them as a live act.

I'm in if I'm around. Up for Sir Jeffrey again, caught him a couple of weeks back at Corsica Studios to approx 200 odd people and it was the best set ever. I hope as part of his 20 Years of Axis deal he's going to release a recording of it.

Dae it!!!! Seriously, get involved man. If you've nae cunt to go with then PM me & meet up with us. We'll be in London from Thursday night till Sunday night. You're more than welcome to jake about with us.

Ricardo. DOOM, Jamie Jones, Carl Craig, Nicolas Jaar, Apparat, Hud Mo... BIG FUCKING SNOOP DOGG!!!! That's the weekend well & truly paid for just there.

I could list about half that line-up as cunts I definitely want to see. Probably gonna have to miss a few winders due to set times. But even if I miss all of them you've still got Sandwell District, Jackmaster (although I'm not too keen on his recent trend for going B2B with Joy Orbison - I imagine there to be too much post-dubstep shite, Jackmaster on his own would be a far better shout), Spencer, & 'muthafuckin' SURGEON!

What a fucking weekend this is going to be!!!

Same, I not heard about it either,:(

I love Orbital as a live act, but don't listen to any studio stuff of theirs.

I caught a bit of Orbital at Space last weekend, it was good! But then almost everything is good when you're in Ibiza ;)

I'm still undecided about Bloc... I might go on the Saturday. The line-up is amazing, I just hope it won't be filled with Shoreditch wankers and hipster kids like so many other London festivals.

whne i first saw the initial announcement I was pretty unsold on it but I've come around to it.
