I wonder how much actual money he gave them? And, was it upfront?

johnnyb420 said:yeah it was shot back in the mid 90's
the scene has not changed much in the tenderloin or the haight
SF is full of some hardcore tarheads even back then dope was only 60 bucks a gram now it is even cheaper
the damage that tar does to the body has not changed even if the price and quality have gotten better
allmost all of the junkies they showed had scabs and were out of viens
that was hardcore seeing them shoot dope in the neck fuckin hardcore

If cops busted in on one of those rooms, I don't think "I'm just filming a documentary" would have gotten him out of anything. that's definitely respectable to risk so much for your art.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fttlX9SpbZY
It discusses the heroin addiction problem in Iran (highest addiction rate in the world), and how the new government, despite being headed by Muslim fundamentalists, are actually quite progressive with their heroin rehab policy.
Isn't it great to know that IRAN, a country that a few years ago used to EXECUTE people who were caught in possession of 2+ grams of heroin (under Ayatollah Khomeini; mentions this in the video), now has a more progressive drug policy than the United States?![]()
The one guy interviewed says he used to IV 7 grams a day, he would have full syringes lined up and would take one out and immediately insert another. That's a serious habit.
SPUNK said:that shit was really shocking. But yeah, I think some of those ppl may have emotional/behavioral disorders, b/c it seems that i have a bigger habit than a lot of those ppl, and yet i am a senior in college. I feel kinda stupid trying to convince myself that im "better" than them, b/c i mean, im a junkie too. its just really scary to see ppl live such a dangerous, meager existence. it makes me wonder if i could hit a bottom like that in order to keep using.
