How many submissions are we going to limit each person to . . . one song period, one song per genre, three period??? We need to set some kind of cap so we don't have people submitting their whole life's work.
 
i'd like to submit one, i judged the last competition but id like to put one of my tracks into this :)

i'd lean towards 1 track period, though i could see allowing 2. any more is getting out of hand - i reckon we'll have more than enough entries allowing only 1 per person as it is.

also...i dunno about the "remix" catagory? Explain this further...what are the remixes of? Do you have to post the Original with the remix so that we have a basis for comparison? etc.

other than that...looks good to me. should be lots of fun.
 
Well, see, that was what I was wondering when I brought it up . . . if you were gonna do a remix of a track, unless it was something just awfully well known you would also have to link to the original, or at least tell people what it was so that they could find it themselves . . . It really would be kind of hard to coordinate properly. I wasn't really even sure it would be kept as a category.
 
I think having a remix contest after the initial competition is over would be a good idea. Everyone that desired could submit a remix of the winning song. Just an idea.
 
yeah i think forgotten's idea is pretty good - as long as everyone who's submitting agrees to it if their track is chosen best overall by the judges (don't see why anyone wouldn't).

reckon the best remix category should be dropped. as has been said, hard to coodinate/make work properly.
 
one last thing to figure... public vote on the board..

should it be at all?
if so, what percentage should it account for?
or we could just have the public vote count for half the vote on the 'other categories'

after that I think we are a go to set up the beginnings of this.
 
okay hows this.....

(1) judges review all submissions, choose 3 finalists for each category.
(2) a BL poll then takes place for each category
(3) the winner of each categories poll will receive 1 vote
(4) the judges will then take a final vote, adding the 1 vote from the pole to the appropriate producers final tally.

thus...deciding a winner for each category.

and...in the event of a tie, the judges will review all the tracks again, and then choose a winner amongst themselves.

as for the "other" categories...Best Anthem, Best Overall etc. I think those should be left entirely to the judges. but im open to suggestion. it just seems there is a lot already to do here.
