Bitcoins

yeah back in november I remember that

You really shouldnt keep any kinds of coins on any website period.

Physical wallets on your computer are the safest bet, just be sure to make a backup copy of it and keep the backup file on a different storage medium (or several) in case your computer is compromised for any reason.

It may be convienent to have them right on the site and not have to wait for transfers to clear but you never know when you might lose access to them whereas you know a transfer for bitcoins will take an hour at the most and about 15 minutes for Litecoins.

Plus you can see detailed information about where you sent and received coins

Agreed. Interesting. Is kindasorta what I based my earlier "there's still money to be made yet" comments onu. Not specifically that but there does seem to be a reasonable chance that "proper" retailers might start accepting it more likely. Was thinking more relatively mainstream online retailers but bricks 'n' mortar shops would be promising. Albeit apparently only amongst Eurohipsters so far.

I wonder how many coins Guy Grandjean and Kate Connolly own

using the wallet atall makes you more likely to be comprimised as it basically advertises your IP address to the whole network ;)

good job people aren't under the impression that bitcoin is totally anonymous huh?

I seem to be making progress. My bitcoins are now in an account where withdrawls actually seem very straightforward.

I Missed the action of April the 10th, where bitcoin dropped from a price of $266 to $105 before returning to a price of $160 within six hours.[40]

they are currently worth €96.78 now.

If i can just get the details for my last few queries fairly sharpish and the w/d goes through quick, i stand to make about £4000 (touch wood literally). Which is a bit fuckin fortunate as ive been worried sick about money since quitting my job in Feb.

My bank balance plummeted in February and March as i was so wasted all the time i was either spilling things everywhere, setting things on fire, hurling things at the walls that werent meant for hurling at walls, generally booting (not as in start a pc) things not made for booting, causing various eleccctrical appliences to breakdown. Had my pc repaired 5 times.

IF i do get around 4k it will top all that back up again, and leave me with no money worries for the rest of the sunmer. The arsehloles at esa/jsa will remain forever in the dark as to why i was unable to fill in a council tax benefit form from the end of feb until now.

Just hope it all turns out to be real. With everything having been virtual so fa i can wait to get my hands on a physical 4 grand.

bitcoins are not illegal. Buying drugs online with bitcoins is illegal. Send them to a tumbling service like bitcoinfog if you want to cover your tracks.

For a substantial rise in the value of BC does there need be a huge surge of people wanting to buy them, or is it more complicated than that ?

Anyway i think now's the time for everyone to turn all their savings into bitcoins folks, pretty cheap at the moment.....

if everyone did it, the value'd blip up a bit, or if Knock and Albion joined in too their value would go off the top of charts immediately, even if they merely expressed an interest in buying....

I didn't say they were illegal. I said everyone using bitcoins is identifiable regardless of what they are using it for.

You're right, John T Fuckoff buys a lot of bitcoins at Walmart using bitinstant

John T Fuckoff should really be more careful

do you think my name is really John T Fuckoff?

...then he goes straight home, starts up the bitcoin wallet and his IP address becomes known to the network.

it's easy to obtain a list of computers containing wallets. making anyone who uses it a prime target for being hacked or ddosed.

Argh my 7970 is loud, but who's to complain when it's minting a fiver a day. Feathercoins ftw - quite profitable atm!

As for getting money out of BTC/LTC, btc-e does paypal withdrawals iirc.

i havent seen any bitcoin sites that mention Paypal. The choices available seem to be banks, wallets, or unique transaction symbols, as far as i have been able to work out so far. Its taken me so long as ive been stuppored. (I have been insomniacal for about 10 days, but now the fog from my head has finally lifted as i had a good sleep last night).

I'm not counting my chickens yet, ive known unexpected things occur and catch out the unaware newbie in many a field. I hope this will not be a simillar experience. If all goes well this is the luckiest ive been in my life, (well apart from that girl in the 6th form) at exactly the time i needed it.

I was looking over the brink at my second nervous breakdown. Caining it all night and working 40 hours a week was never going to end well. So I ditched the job, am gradually getting the drugs under control. I keep saying im not religious but Thanks God, Fate, whatever. Thankyou. I'll be good. Well I wont be bad. Or too bad.

Free ice creams all round at Snowdon hahahahha

Should have bought a 7950 and overclocked it. Same spec then, but almost half the cost.

It's been known for a while that p2p protocols comprimise the security model of tor...

Tor is a popular low-latency anonymity network.
However, Tor does not protect against the exploitation
of an insecure application to reveal the IP address of, or
trace, a TCP stream. In addition, because of the linka-
bility of Tor streams sent together over a single circuit,
tracing one stream sent over a circuit traces them all
