one excellent sign is that the sites are maintaining very regular apparently honest and open ciommunications with their customers. This is being managed very and impressively well indeed. Customer service is a disrespected part of business , but it makes a fuckin world of difference when you get answers.

even though you arent getting your instant money, you are at least not being ignored.

Such would be the death knell of my£9G

id better stop hounding them quite so much, incase i just piss them off and they fuck me off. So maybe one enquiry a day. Which is quite a lot less than at present.

is there much potential for the litecoins does anyone think?. might buy just a few in the off chance that they may be worth something decent somewere down the line.

The thing is people have heavily invested in litecoins thinking they could or might be the next big thing, unless that big major website starts accepting litecoins then I dont think they will take off, ive been mining them for a while though so who knows.

A new website set up to rival that other one has started to accept litecoins, you never know nothing wrong with a bit of competition.

its that new place that first brought my attention to them. its still way off the tried and trusted site but there's potential i suppose. your right, nothing wrong with some healthy competition : )

No. Stock price of litecoin is seemingly tied into the bitcoin price looking at the market, so if you really want to invest then it makes more sense to go for bitcoin as it has a higher price and will offer you a greater ROI (in terms of £ rather than % ).

I wouldn't invest in either though and I would seriously warn others about buying bitcoins or litecoins as an investment now. It's value is purely based upon what speculators think it is worth, there's absolutely no tangible value in it.

Chance to invest has gone. Don't risk hundreds of your hard earned cash in what is essentially a glorified pyramid scheme. If you enter now you'll be at the bottom of the pyramid, not the top like mydrugbuddy lucked out on. :)

the time for investing in bit-coin is definitely gone. although i made 70 euro after the crash, a little victory for the little man : ). I wouldn't invest anything that's going to break the bank. but it might be worth it to buy a bit if it ever made it somewere could buy some pills or something out of it. its only worth what we make it worth in the long wrong, which doesnt leave me with a hell of alot of optimism for it

I am Rooting for you btw . This thread would be nothing without your contribution :D

Agreed. Interesting. Is kindasorta what I based my earlier "there's still money to be made yet" comments on. Not specifically that but there does seem to be a reasonable chance that "proper" retailers might start accepting it more likely. Was thinking more relatively mainstream online retailers but bricks 'n' mortar shops would be promising. Albeit apparently only amongst Eurohipsters so far.

Japanese police raided major Bitcoin exchange late Wednesday afternoon creating sell offs on the exchange.

In an unconfirmed report by a person within Naicho speaking on a condition of anonymity that the Mt. Gox bitcoin exchange may be responsible for the DDoS attacks and could be responsible for market manipulation.

loool

*everyone knows but you're not allowed to mention it, I don't make the rules I just apply them ;)* has been under attack for a good 3-4 days now, a DoS attack, no access for a few days now and the owner says hes never seen anything like it, and basically dosent have a clue how or when he can stop it (Basically he cant, just waiting for the persons/people) to give up.

Managed to get on this morning though, so maybe there is hope :)

If I had to bet money on it (and I have I guess)

absolutely

If MtGox is not bullshitting about litecoin support you bet your ass it is going to rise.

and that "new website" that takes litecoins is the same thing as "the other website" from a buyers perspective

its only a matter of time tbh, once a cash-to-litecoin service is set up people wont have to buy bitcoins to trade for litecoins and it will become a seperate entity from bitcoin

granted, when I first heard of litecoins they were worth 50 cents each. In a span of one week they went to 4$, then back down to around 2.2-2.5 for a while, and are hovering in the high 3's as of recently.

It's been more than 3-4 days I think, probably more like a week. Makes it pretty sketchy to ever transfer money into it - what happens if you stick £100 worth of bitcoins in then it goes offline? What if you make an order then it goes offline before the vendor sees it? What if it never comes back online? I'm giving it a wide berth for the foreseeable future.

Back online now and fully functioning, gotta remember though last year it was down for around 8 days and it came back completely fine. All seems all right at the moment anyway, either someone's got bored or run out of money to continue attacking it...
