I had an idea/thought/theory that I'm looking to get some insight into.
Ok, so there are things called binaural beats by definition "Binaural beats, or binaural tones, are auditory processing artifacts, or apparent sounds, caused by specific physical stimuli" - wikipedia. They claim to have many effects that depending on the beats/tones can induce different sensations, like feelings of relaxation, intoxication, etc. There are binaural beats that claim to mimic the effects of different drugs i.e. heroin, cocaine, lsd, marijuana, etc.
I've tried one before, can't remember which one it was (I think it was LSD), and it basically just made everything sound all weird and echo-ey for a while..
Well I was wondering, that if these indeed do work, could they be helped to alleviate the symptoms of withdrawal? Say you're going through heroin withdrawal, and you go and listen to a heroin feeling inducing binaural beat, could that help with the withdrawals?
Anyway, if anyone has tried these binaural beats and had effects, what's your opinion/standpoint on them? Did they work for you? Did they induce the feeling that they claim? And do you think that this could be used as a HR technique for coming off drugs?
I mean, I know that if it did work I doubt it would be highly effective, but maybe it could help just enough to get a person going through withdrawals to be able to cope..
I don't know, it's just a thought I had.
