Bible verse of the day!! Get your daily study on.

Matthew 10:24-33

The disciple is not superior to the teacher, nor slave to master.
It is enough for the disciple to be like teacher, and slave like his master. If they have called the master of the house "Beelzebub", how much more the members of his household?
Therefore do not be afraid of them. Everything now covered up will be revealed, and everything now hidden will be made clear.
What I say to you in the dark, tell in the daylight; what you hear in whispers, proclaim from the housetops.
Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul but fear him rather who can destroy both body and soul in hell.
Can you not buy two sparrows for a penny? And yet not one falls to the ground without your Father knowing.
Every hair on your head has been counted.
So there is no need to be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
So if anyone declares himself for me in the presence of men, I will declare myself for him in the presence of my Father in heaven.
But the one who disowns me in the presence of men, I will disown in the presence of my Father in heaven.

These verses are like the a light in darkness if they are read with an open mind. When I quickly check the political section I see people complaining this is unfair or that is unfair or so and so is a $&@^. Earthly justice we already know does not balance out the deeds with the recourse on many people. But when it comes time to review our lives I remember one NDE'er saying that in his review he could see the vein on a leaf on the tree nearby, That detailed. So I don't worry about Earthly justicec. We have enough info to know we should watch our deeds and try not to harm anyone.

I know I posted these but I will again:

Matthew 5:5 Blessed are the meek for shall inherit the earth
Matthew 20:16 So the first shall be last and the last shall be first.

My favorite recently John 12:25 Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life.

The kingdom of heaven is within

Luke 17:20-21

King James Version

20 ... The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you

Today's verse is:

Matthew 18:18

"Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."

Which I picked because I need help with that one myself? I don't understand it because elsewhere we get:

Matthew 15:9

"They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules.’”

Am I doing it wrong? Am I doing Christianity wrong?

This is the way I personally look at it.

Matthew 18:18 is talking about an Apostle's ability to teach a congregation through the Holy Spirit.

The second verse from Matthew is a continuation of verse 15:7

15:7 You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you:
15:8 These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.
15: 9 They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules."

15:7 Indicates that He is talking of those Christians who are hypocritical; they say the follow, but their actions prove they don't. Verse 15:9 concludes the the sentence. Kinda like those who pray out loud in order to look holy have already received their reward. Being a Christian means you actually follow in the way of Christ, not that that just say that they do.

They are talking about two different subjects.

Was he - Jesus - actually trying to teach us that we were one and the same? That what one can do so can everyone else... through the spirit (that which connects us)? 🤔

Matthew 16:13-23

When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi He put this question to his disciples, 'Who do people say the Son of man is?'
And they said, 'Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.'
'But you,' He said, 'who do you say I am?'
Then Simon Peter spoke up and said, 'You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.'
Jesus replied, 'Simon son of Jonah, you are a blessed man, because it was no human agency that revealed this to you but My Father in heaven.
So I now say to you: You are Peter and on this rock I will build my Church. And the gates of the underworld can never overpower it.
I will give you the keys of the kingdom of Heaven: whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven; whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.'

Then He gave the disciples strict orders not to say to anyone that He was the Christ.
From then on Jesus began to make it clear to his disciples that He was destined to go to Jerusalem and suffer grievously at the hands of the elders and chief priests and scribes and to be put to death and to be raised up on the third day.
Then, taking him aside, Peter started to rebuke Him. 'Heaven preserve You, Lord,' he said, 'this must not happen to You.'
But He turned and said to Peter, 'Get behind me, Satan! You are an obstacle in My path, because you are thinking not as God thinks but as human beings do.'

John 6:41-51

The Jews murmured about Jesus because He said,
"I am the bread that came down from heaven, "
and they said,
"Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph?
Do we not know His father and mother?
Then how can He say,
'I have come down from heaven'?"
Jesus answered and said to them,
"Stop murmuring among yourselves.
No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draw him,
and I will raise him on the last day.
It is written in the prophets:
They shall all be taught by God.
Everyone who listens to My Father and learns from Him comes to Me.
Not that anyone has seen the Father
except the One who is from God;
He has seen the Father.
Amen, amen, I say to you,
whoever believes has eternal life.
I am the bread of life.
Your ancestors ate the manna in the desert, but they died;
this is the bread that comes down from heaven
so that one may eat it and not die.
I am the living bread that came down from heaven;
whoever eats this bread will live forever;
and the bread that I will give is My flesh for the life of the world."

Matthew 18:15-20

If your brother does something wrong, go and have it out with him alone, between your two selves.
If he listens to you, you have won back your brother.
If he does not listen, take one or two others along with you: whatever the misdemeanor, the evidence of two or three witnesses is required to sustain the charge;
but if he refuses to listen to these, report it to the community; and if he refuses to listen to the community, treat him like a gentile or a tax collector.

In truth I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven; whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
In truth I tell you once again, if two of you on earth agree to ask anything at all, it will be granted to you by my Father in heaven.
For where two or three meet in my name, I am there among them

Matthew 19:13-15

Then people brought little children to Him, for Him to lay His hands on them and pray. The disciples scolded them;
but Jesus said, 'Let the little children alone, and do not stop them from coming to Me; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of Heaven belongs.'
Then He laid His hands on them and went on His way.

We have a plaque that has this saying in our living room. It was a gift. It is also the only bible verse that only recently possibly understood what it meant. But yeah, I thought about this one for years.

Thanks for all the verses CK. I read them as soon as you post. Been thinking a lot lately as to what is important.

So then, there remains a
keeping
of the Sabbath
for the people of God.

Shabbat Shalom

Rev 16.2 "So the first angel went and poured out his bowl on the
earth, and harmful and painful sores came upon the people who bore
the mark of the beast and worshiped its image."

Ephesians 5:15-20

So be very careful about the sort of lives you lead, like intelligent and not like senseless people.
Make the best of the present time, for it is a wicked age.
This is why you must not be thoughtless but must recognize what is the will of the Lord.
Do not get drunk with wine; this is simply dissipation; be filled with the Spirit.
Sing psalms and hymns and inspired songs among yourselves, singing and chanting to the Lord in your hearts,
always and everywhere giving thanks to God who is our Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I don't pick these out myself, I just share one of the three readings of the liturgical passages of that day's Mass.
I'm glad that you find them uplifting and relevant. ❤️

Matthew 19:16-22
And now a man came to Him and asked, 'Master, what good deed must I do to possess eternal life?'
Jesus said to him, 'Why do you ask Me about what is good? There is One alone who is good. But if you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments.'
He said, 'Which ones?' Jesus replied, 'These: You shall not kill. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not give false witness.
Honor your father and your mother. You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'
The young man said to Him, 'I have kept all these. What more do I need to do?'
Jesus said, 'If you wish to be perfect, go and sell your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow Me.'
But when the young man heard these words he went away sad, for he was a man of great wealth.

Ezekiel 28:1-10
The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,
Son of man, say to the ruler of Tyre, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Because your heart has grown proud, you thought: I am a god; I am divinely enthroned far out to sea.
Though you are human, not divine, you have allowed yourself to think like God. So, you are wiser than Danel; no sage as wise as you!
By your wisdom and your intelligence you have made yourself a fortune, you have put gold and silver into your treasuries.
Such is your skill in trading, your fortune has continued to increase, and your fortune has made your heart grow prouder.
And so, the Lord Yahweh says this: Since you have allowed yourself to think like God,
Very well, I am going to bring foreigners against you, the most barbarous of the nations. They will draw sword against your fine wisdom, they will desecrate your splendor,
they will throw you down into the grave and you will die a violent death far out to sea.
Will you still think: I am a god, when your slaughterers confront you? But you will be human, not divine, in the clutches of the ones who strike you down!
You will die like the uncircumcised at the hand of foreigners. "For I have spoken -- declares the Lord Yahweh." '
