Beta ketone test?

Is there a test that can determine whether or not a chemical confirmed to be an MDXX is a beta-ketone?

There is a test for ketones which uses 1% sodium nitroprusside and and drop of 2M NaOH solution. This will detect methcathinone and most likely also 4-MMC. Not sure about methylone though.

more specifically, if BK-MDMA would test positive for MDMA

Pills that were mephedrone (confirmed by lab) were marquis tested and zero changes/effects noted.

Hi Phase dancer,
why shouldn't it react with methylone? It has the ketone (C=O), right?
I can make some of this reagent if there's anybody who can test it for me?

works great on acetone (also a ketone)
are there any volunteers that actually know how to get their hands on (preferably all) of the substances mentioned in this thread?

No reason it shouldn't react with M1, only that it isn't published anywhere afaik. Keep us updated easy e.
