What are the most effective and important supplements to take when using MDMA to pre/post-load?
Are these things mostly placebo or do they make a difference? Do you really need any of these stuff if you use rarely (like 1-5 times a year) and keep your doses below 200mg per session? Or are these really useful when you use more, like once a month or even more frequently. Could these help with the comedown problems when used too much?
rollsafe.org lists the following supplements as recommended:
Alpha Lipoic Acid
Why? Powerful antioxidant (long-term, antioxidants are more important than 5-HTP).
Racemic ALA (cheaper, inferior form) - 200mg before MDMA dose and every hour of roll.
Na-R-ALA (preferred) - 100mg before and every 2 hours of roll.
Magnesium (bioavailable form - avoid the oxide forms)
Why? Prevents jaw clenching.
Magnesium Glycinate - 2,000mg (200mg elemental Mg) 6 hours before, 1 hour before, and during.
Vitamin C (Ascorbyl Palmitate is preferred to ascorbic acid)
Why? Antioxidant that reduces neurotoxicity and hepatotoxicity.
Vitamin C - (2,000mg vitamin C) 1 hour before and during. (Emergen-C is a fine source of Vitamin C)
Quercetin
Why? Antioxidant that reduces neurotoxicity.
Quercetin - 500mg before and during. (Grape Seed Extract - 100mg before and during, is a reasonable substitute)
Marked as optional there is:
-5-HTP
-Green tea extract (EGCG)
-Melatonin (5-10mg for antioxidant properties)
-CoQ10 (protects neurons)
-Inositol
-Milk thistle
-Fish oil
Personally I've only used 5-HTP to post-load after MDMA. Whether is it placebo or not, it seems to work. Then again, I use MDMA only ~4 times a year and keep my doses reasonable. I also use magnesium for jaw clenching like 700-1000mg when rolling. From personal experience I recommend NOT to take 5-htp at least 24h prior MDMA. It seemed to really dull the effects.
What do you guys use? I bought some Vitamin C and Multivita effervescent tablets today for the future rolls.
