Misc Best sleep med

I usually don’t have a big problem falling asleep. My big problem is constantly waking up. I’ll fall asleep and within 30 min. to an hour I’ll be awake. Temazepam is the only med that tends to keep me asleep for usually 3 to 4 hours straight and that’s great sleep for me.

I’m going to ask my doc tomorrow about some different sleeping meds. I cannot fall asleep for hours after laying down in bed

Still not sure what country you are in, but here are my thoughts.

1. Zopiclone ( Non US )
2. Lunesta ( US )

As mentioned I think Zopiclone is effective at the same dose (no need to increase due to tolerance.. IME), if taken properly at the right dose IME it has been the least "abusive" sleeping pill second only to taking nothing at all. Again this is IME (over 20 years).

But give this video a watch, it is worth it. ( I mean in a good way ).
Try watch it for general advise and not for the "Ambien" product itself.

Good luck and update us on the outcome of your visit.

I’m in the us brother

Last night I took 20 mg Belsomra and 200 mg of Trazodone. Had sinus problems kept me awake until 10, plus it was hot until I turned on the air conditioner.

I have a deep concern about insomnia if I don’t get a full nights sleep I get out of sorts.

I was a little hungover in the morning but that passed. Ideally I would like to fall asleep taking Belsomra alone because trazodone inhibits psychedelics. So far I am able to stop taking an antipsychotic and an antidepressant without withdrawal symptoms. Hopefully, I won’t need mental health drugs however if I need to go back taking them I will have a supply.

You take up to a double dose of Flexeril every night? Man, I'd be in permanent zombie mode. That stuff sticks with me for what feels like DAYS even at 10mg.-
I call it the "hammer to the head" muscle relaxer. Great for if you get some bad back spasms. A Cyclobenzaprine at bedtime and you often wake up better. But, yeah, a hangover for sure (one day for me).

The combo I use for sleep is :
-- Lunesta 3mg
-- Clonidine 0.6mg
-- Vistaril PAM 100mg
-- Cyclobenzaprine 15-20mg

I find pregabablin as my perfect fll asleep drug (rls that methadone doesn't even solve) and Clonazepam or another longer acting benzos as the stay asleep drug. I got a be careful when I take my methadone or I'll piss myself in the middle of the night being so relaxed

Have you tried pramipexole or ropinirole for your RLS yet? Dopamine agonists. Someone on another site recommended it to me for 7-oh/kratom issues. Swears by it. I'm going to try getting my hands on it at my next doctor visit.

Edit: Sorry I added another reply and deleted my first post after someone already replied to me. This thread moving fast... :ROFLMAO:

I see in another thread the update to your clonazepam. I am sure this was not a negative for you.

But.......
please can we have an update on this thread's topic?

The suspense is killing me. :p

Hope you are ok btw

He upped my kpins to 4mg a day and he’s hoping that along with the breathing techniques he taught me today that it will help me sleep. He said if he doesn’t he’s going to try me on ambian or something similar

Positive visit to the doctor IMO.

Well done, and I can't fault the advise and also the option in the future if necessary. (Try not to "dwell" on the what if's if the stuff he/she said isn't working, too much of this mindset would make what he/she is suggesting to not work, kinda like a "A self-fulfilling prophecy" - in the hope of getting separate sleeping medication).. I know this sounds obvious, but I need to remind myself about it to stay on track, so I just typed it here for you too.

Good luck and hope you feel some kind of "natural" dopamine release from this experience. (I know I would)

;)

I’m definitely going to start trying it tonight! I’m blessed to have found a doctor who truly listens to me and doesn’t just treat me as another number/refill. He doesn’t rush me , and lets me talk.

I totally forgot to mention a med i used for sleep a few times that I got from a buddy. I looked it up and seems it’s actually prescribed off label for sleep. It’s a muscle relaxer called zanaflex. Oh no my god. The couple times I took it that shit knocked me out like a light switch !!! But my doc is like I said wanting me to try these breathing/ counting techniques then he said “if” (I’m hoping they work) they don’t work he’s gonna put me on something like ambien to start probably

Is he talking long-term benzodiazepines/z-drugs? Hope he means it, you know how that goes. End up in a way worse place than you started when doc decides he changed his mind.

I’ve been on kpins for 10 years. Have stopped on my own a couple times over the years. Kpins are a life saver for me. I understand some people don’t need long term benzos but I do due to my mental health conditions.

Ah, that's good then. I just wanted to put it out there that some people think they've been saved, but then have their hero ripped from their arms, real quick like. Seen it so many times, myself included once.

Oh yeah man. I’ve stopped and started myself many times. It’s hard for sure ! But I hope I can stay on kpins forever. If a doc is anti benzos I do not want them at all ! Fuck that bs. Benzos work for their intended use better than any other med point blank period. Hate how these new docs want to shove ssris down our throats but think benzos and opiates that really work are the devil.
