Misc Best sleep med

When i was on zopiclone they worked well, but i was waking for a split second with bile/vomit fluid in my mouth wanting to barf but then i another split second was asleep. I was worried i would choke on vomit so told my doctor and they stopped me having zopiclones and gave me valium instead, but drinking 20cl to 35cl of dark rum.in afternoon evening helps me sleep better with the valium and olazapine

They’re sneaky about it sometimes, atleast with amps you can stall for a few days sometimes lol.

Water in a cup, get out, come back and say sorry
I did what I would consider ‘outrageous’ things to get past random drug testing at work… but given the site we’re on I’ll change it to ‘desperate’ things. Im female.. so you probably know where I’m going with this.

I did A LOT of trial and error at home with drug testers and several pee holders (condoms, different sized mini containers. I finally found the perfect size bottle with the exact number (50ml) needed for the urine tests. It’s those little bottles with Jameson vitamin E oil. I soaked all the oil out with bleach, then soaked all the bleach out with several washes using a little scrubber I managed to put together to fit down into it.
Pour in the pee, and.. put it inside my female pocket lol Clean pee and body temp!

The only thing was.. I was never sure when I would be tested. So there were some days I had to spend at work a little uncomfy… just in case lol It was a work thing but I had to go off site to do the test. Although it was random I kinda got a sense of when they’d do it.. I never failed and it lasted for 2 full years 😂

I had two friends that were completely clean.. not even weed. I had a fresh supply of pee in my fridge for 2 years lol

Maybe I’ll go with desperate and determined lol

I miss temazepam. I really liked that for sleep.
Me too.

However, for me, Zopiclone works and I find it more reliable ( sometimes the expected "relief" from Temazepam isn't as consistent as Zopiclone).

This helps me psychologically to put the "missing my temazepam" thoughts into the "not necessary" section of my mind. Hope this makes sense.

I still have 2 x 20mg Temazepam tabs in my drawer, and am waiting on "refill" to arrive - Zopiclone is being used the majority of the time with no need to increase dosage (I never take more than 15mg Zopiclone and actually sometimes 7.5mg works even better)

Just thought I would add my 2 cents.

lol, I spilled it on one of them. By accident

Yeah, they’re all horrible for that, I had to take so much omeprazole. I was throwing as soon as I drank anything. Can’t even dream on them.

You know what, that little bit of advice is very good!
I think I’ll find it to be really useful.
Thank you for that. I’m gonna started telling myself the type of thing.

I’ve come a longgg way over the years but I still have my moments where I miss seeing all the pill bottles in my drawer. They gave me comfort. Was like a safety blanket.
I have ocd (ruminating thoughts being the worst of all symptoms) since I get started on a craving, it takes me much longer to break the cycle.

I’ve been craving anything over the last few days. I want to get so fucked up. I’m not going to but I want to. Dealing with my daughter’s father is actual torture and he’s putting me through hell right now
I didn’t close my eyes for a second last night. And I’m not taking anything extra. Fuck that too.

It’s been nice to just chat with people.

Thanks again:)

Stupid bullshit laws. No take homes with benzos.
However.. he could be a real cunt if he wanted to - (you either love or hate him) his reviews crack me the fuck up. Whenever a pissed off addict doesn’t get what they want they call him an asshole on google reviews 😂

but he’s never been like that with me. I love the man honestly.
That’s crazy and where is this a law at brother ? I get my Subutex and a benzos both monthly

Canada.
Im not sure how ‘solid’ this ‘law’ really is… or if it varies depending on the province…but it’s what I’ve been told since I started methadone then subs almost 10 years ago.
However… I believe it’s more doctor discretion and if a patient OD, it’s their ass on the line.
And I’ve gotten take homes but never for more than 3 days at a time.

Warning!!!

Be careful if you mix those Delta products and benedryl. I've spent the last 5 hours doing the zombie walk. It wasn't unpleasant until .. maybe 3 hours ago. It's like I can't breathe without focusing really hard on it. And I'm so fucked up I keep passing out and waking up gasping for air and sometimes twitching.

Chest hurts where my heart is . Was home alone so I just barged into my neighbors house. I'm not how you'd say scared, just it's so hard to focus on breathing. Kinda comes and goes. You start to feel better so you relax . Next thing you know you're gasping for air as you rocket awake. Probably 30 to 40 times in the last few hours.

I haven't had this exact problem since I used to mix benzos and opioids a dozen or so years ago.

Did it just now . Woke up not breathing. Fuck !!

I didn't even take a lot of either one. .

I just thought I'd sleep really well like the nights before. I have no idea why I'm having this strong of symptoms.

Update: still going , just passed out and woke up several times. It's the wildest feeling.

Thinking about asking my doc at next appointment for either addys or ambian. Which would you guys choose ? He’s already told me he would prescribe me addys before as I was talking out of his office last time. Also he mentioned if I was still
Having trouble sleeping he would prescribe me ambian to knock me out lol.

Question for all of you that take prescribed sleep meds. What’s the best one you’ve taken ? I’ve tried several otc meds and a couple prescribed sleep meds trazodone and maybe one other. What’s some recommendations you guys have ?
It depends on what kind of sleeping issues you have. If you have trouble falling asleep, clonodine. If you have trouble falling asleep and staying asleep, trazodone, lunesta. If you can fall asleep but wake up with racing thoughts, unable to go back to sleep, Ativan.

I personally have taken several prescribed sleep meds. They usually don't start you on something like lunesta. Ambien is meant to be a short term drug, maybe 1-2 months. Trazodone is one of the first I took. After so long, I started getting restless leg from it. My Dr switched me lunesta and I worked my way up to 3mg. I also take Clonazepam, methocarbamol, duloxetine, and candesartin (blood pressure) all when I'm going to sleep. I have a diagnosed sleep disorder though.
Your Dr may want you to do a sleep study before putting you on any heavy stuff to help you sleep. Have you ever had one? A lot of people don't realize that insomnia is just one piece of things like narcolepsy, idiopathic hypersomnia. They have an entirely different set of drugs for that.

Any long acting benzo is great for sleep. I actually found promethazine the best. Unfortunately tolerance builds fast.
I have promethazine but I only use it for nausea. I will say, even when I was on opiates, benzos, muscle relaxers, it was one of the only things that would make me sleep. Tolerance does build fast, like less than a week for me.

I’ve got sleep apnea for sure. But I’ve been prescribed several sleep meds. The only one that slightly worked was trazodone and the reason I say slightly is because yes it made me drowsy and eventually put me to sleep but it makes me so groggy the next day. My doc said he will probably try me on ambian, seroquel , or temazepam or something similar

Has there been any talk of a cpap machine if you have sleep apnea for sure? You may be so groggy because of the lack of oxygen while you're sleeping or constantly waking up. If sleep apnea is your main issue, meds might not help you. A CPAP might be your best option. But only a sleep study would let you know that for sure.

I would be cautious with the meds you said your Dr suggested. Both ambien and temezapam are meant to be short term treatments. Temezapam is only suggested for 7-10 days and ambien 30-90 days. They are really meant to reset your circadian rhythm so you won't need them long term. Seroquel is first and foremost an antipsychotic used to treat things like bipolar and schizophrenia. That would be my last choice out of any med mentioned so far. The side effects wouldn't be worth it. Unless you have an underlying mental health issue, I would take that off the table completely. If you've tried things previously and they're not working now, the best thing might be to see a sleep specialist.
I think the thing that doesn't feel right to me is that your Dr, whom I'm assuming is a general practitioner, would be comfortable prescribing those meds without further testing. I had to see a psychiatrist and neurologist/sleep specialist to be put on the meds I'm taking. Once I was leveled out and not needing any changes, my PCP took over. I'm just looking out for you to be the safest you can be while getting help. I would hate to see you put on meds that either don't help at all, have severe side effects, lead to addiction, or even worse. Suicidal ideation can be a side effect of some of the stuff mentioned and that's not really something that gets talked about when you're prescribed it. You should really educate yourself about what you take and what could happen from it. Just saying....
