best 'scholarly' Benzo out there?

^^^ Totally man....

The Answer is def. Clonazepam (klonopin) ... I've used this stuff for FIVE years .... and its not at all like Xanax... Its like a better Valium. . More clearheaded. Especially if you take it as prescribed, Which I do.

Adderall and clonazepam have a perfect synergy. Usually it won't last though and I don't think its for anyone but bigger people / or people with HIGH tolerance.

But Klonopin needs to be quality clonazepam.. Like from roche... Or else Costco (TeVa brand) Don't try to abuse it.

Bromazepam is very valium liked but has a reasonable timeframe. One of the best IMO. Not so easy to come by unless you like thombing your noise at Customs though. In terms of readily available benzos id have to say clonazepam, echoing not to abuse it and not to go to stratospheric doses with it, one thign is that unlike valium it has no active metabolites so is not as gentle to stop it CT.

I think if you take any benzo for long enough, you will notice the restrictions that it puts on you. The mental fog is unavoidable IMO... It may not feel as bad with some benzos, but just by their nature, they are going to impair you a bit...

Excellent point.

The worst part is how benzos are strong but subtle in effect at the same time-- so many people don't notice the impairment until they are already addicted, and then it takes a long time to get their normal level of cognitive functioning back.

I'm months completely off benzos and I'm definitely not 100% yet-- got a major muscle tremor in my arm last night, even. My mind is much better than it was while I was on benzos, but still deficient compared to before I used them. I'm hoping my healing will continue steadily.

Benzos are a pretty shitty road to go down, honestly-- unless a person is so severely anxious that it makes them suicidal, its best to just live with the anxiety and learn to deal with it without drugs, IMO.

This thread has been very helpful - thanks guys.

So, as someone who counts on utilizing their brain constantly to create, do you think then that a lot of the 'dullness' and less motivation, creativity etc, has come from my now, pretty extended and high-dose use of Benzos?

I just always assumed it was the lithium that was completely taking this away from me

tomorrow i see my shrink.... so word

Well benzos can make you rather apathetic, that is kinda what they were meant to do to some extent. But I am sure that the lithium is having a similar effect on you, it just kinda keeps you at a baseline level. When I was on tegretol (carbamazepine) I felt very apathetic and stopped taking it due to this.

in a low dose, definitely lorazepam. in higher doses i think it has a steep drop-off, but i dont have a monstrous tolerance.

klonopin seems to be pretty subtle.

Valium is definitely my favorite, I also have xannax for the initial panic attacks that I suffer from because of PTSD. Dood Tegretol (Carbamazepine) is some of the most wicked shit I have ever taken. It literally made me attempt suicide multiple times and became delusional and had severe manic and neurotic episodes for over a week because of an adverse reaction to it. That stuff is very dangerous, I was on it for some type of neuropathy in my legs, but would rather just feel my legs on fire then deal with that mania. Benzo's were a fucking live saver during those times. But as to Valium and why i think it's more subtle, it lasts way longer and totally helps my muscle spasms and tension for significant periods of time. I just got off the Tegretol btw this Monday, they said to digress off it at the pain institute at shepherd and I told that mother fucker. I'm cting it I don't care... Luckily I finally see a psychologist tomorrow morning to help treat me for the PTSD and monitor my meds. I was getting valiums prescribed by my doctor who i see for my spine lol and he felt bad for me and gave me xannax to help off record.

I have been taking Ativan - lorazepam for social phobia/anxiety for a couple months now. I wanted Xanax or Klonopin but didn't get it. I abuse almost any pill I can get my hands on so I was happy when I got the perscription, but when I tried to "abuse" it, I was disappointed and decided to use it properly. (I fell off my bed and hit my head on hardwood floor... not to mention I didn't feel "high" just really loopy and stupid)
When I feel anxiety or a panic attack coming on, I usually take 1 or 2 mgs to relax (depends how bad it is) and it makes me feel relaxed enough to have a conversation without any panic or paranoia. Usually have to take a nap a few hours later because it makes me tired - but didn't work for insomnia for some reason.
I also use it for bad comedowns off other drugs.
