From many smoking adventures, I've narrowed my list of top movies down to a select few. If you haven't seen ALL of these, you're missing out...

Are there any other movies that deserve to be in these categories???

If the movie contains drug-related material, the drug references must be accurate!!! (e.g. pineapple express exaggerated the intensity of weed. also, in 'orange county', the dean exaggerated the effects of ecstasy.) Only true-to-life movies allowed in this list.

Only MUST-SEE flicks for faded!!!
 
40 Year Old Virgin is a must (comedy)

also The Departed (drama)

and This is Spinal Tap (Mockumentary)
 
Blazing Saddles(gene wilder(guy from orig willy wonka movie) and a black guy are sherrifs in the wild west while smoking weed) and Silver Streak(gene wilder and richord pryor) kinda a james bond spoof but while trying to be black both surpisingly witty and funny for how old they are.
 
watched donnie darko last night while totally ripped, dont think any other movie has had such an impact on me. it is at the same time melancholic, philosophical, ironically funny and unbelievably interesting. the feel of this movie is one i have never experienced in other movies, my number one favorite without competition. would probs be a good contender.

EDIT: catagory would be movies to trip on.
 
^Southland Tales, also by Richard Kelly of Donnie Darko. A hilarious mindfuck of a movie, with great tunes to boot.
 
I really like "The Shawshank Redemption" either sober or high it's a great flick. I agree with a poster above as well and give a thumbs up to Blazing Saddles or ANY Mel Brooks movie! That man is a genius hands down.

Some other funny flicks of his are Young Frankenstein (oldie but a goodie), Spaceballs, life stinks, or High Anxiety just to name a few.

Labyrinth (lol yes really)
No Country For Old Men
Slacker
There Will Be Blood

And Kevin Smith movies are much funnier to me stoned.
 
Can't believe no one has mentioned the following:

Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle & Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay..

These movies fit well in the Chill and Tripp on categories, but i don't think you can really learn anything from them :P apart from making sure you have food handy, and don't smoke weed on an airplane :P

Zeitgeist (even tho i dont agree with EVERYTHING in it, it does bring up some amazing points and shit)

yeah those are all obvious, but on the off chance your reading this and havent seen one of these movies check it out.
 
Are you fucking kidding me? theres no The Union : The business behind getting high?!?! That should be for movies to learn from. and movies to chill with should totally be dazed and confused
