Benzos Best Benzo (or something else) for anxiety?

Thanks. I just want a benzo for those times when its beneficial or extremely crippling. I don't really plan on using them daily (who plans to anyways though? lol)

Drugs aren't the best solution, but their efficiency and instant acting effects are the main reason I would like to use them.

(I love deadmau5 too lol)

I'm on zoloft and i absolutely love it. It makes my happy all through out the day. It's kind of like a natural high cuz i'm always happy. I don't know why everyone is scared of the side effects from ssri's. I've tried several of them and zoloft is the best, try it out.

if u can get it get temazepam, klonopin and ativan are very subtle imo

Thanks everyone. I didn't want to use SSRIs because of their side effects, and plan to use a benzo so I don't screw up certain situations (probably not going to take it everyday). I'm already prescribed Dexedrine 30mg, but it seems to be a poor way to treat ADD (in my case, I'm sure its great for a lot of others). Sucks since I asked for it. :(

I'll probably ask for Adderall again and see if that helps.

Do you guys get worst sleep from benzos?

Ever hear of that sucsessful advertiseing slogan 'just do it'?
Practice indeed makes perfect, learn social skills over time and piece by piece. IMO if you can't do that due to an anxiety order seek help.
If it's just social anxiety practice, practice practice. If you arn't willing too then procreation with a female wasn't meant for you my friend; stay out of the gene pool.

Depressica: (most) benzos interrupt REM sleep, therefore only something like temazepam improves sleep. Triazolam doesn't last long enough to interrupt most/all of your REM sleep, otherwise, benzos detract from quality of sleep.

The best anxiolytic is a psychedelic IMO. Most people would disagree with this.

Benzos are pretty subjective, some people swear by xanax everything else is shit. Some people swear by valium and..... Myself I can't tell one from another at equivilant doses. If you just want to calm down a little to talk to girls any benzo at a low dose will work fine. Obviously you aren't gonna get a script for that so get whichever one you can get easiest or cheapest.

i will disagree with it, only because i can't take psychedelics.. but benzos love me.. or the other way around. i dont know anymore. but it could work for some people. like for example- some people stop doing drugs in the result a life changing trip from a drug .. they can work quite well for some, but for people like me who cant trip because of mental issues, they are a bad idea.

EDIT: I will still go with hydroxyzine pamoate~ Vistaril 100mg as being the best anti anxiety med without addiction issues, take 100mg of it and you will feel anxiety free guaranteed or your money back. But if a benzo must be chosen.. clonazepam.
%)

congrats!!

i was on 5-6mg/daily for a while and am tapering .5mg/month until i get to 2mg and ill decide if i want to continue the taper or if i wanna stay at 2mg.. not to mention im addicted to phenazepam also :\

thanks, my addiction was kept under wraps to everyone but my counselor so it's nice to hear encouraging words. i didn't really give myself the option to taper. i figured, for me personally, it would be easier to just stop than try to taper (i'm sure i would have found excuses to take more, lol). good luck to you and i hope you can get off that phenazepam! never tried it but i've heard a lot of bad about it.. but yeah anyway good luck :)

that made me giggle a little... but you have a really good point. so many people look to drugs as a magic wand that is just going to make your life wonderful. and yeah, drugs can do that, but when the drugs are gone you're going to be worse off than where you started.

I agree with the psych thing. A psych trip I had helped me really work out some anxiety issues. I freaked out for about 3 hours during the trip which was unpleasant but I also resolved many issues that I couldn't have resolved otherwise. I solved more of my problems in one day than some people solve in their whole lives.

I'd go with long life benzos, maybe Clordemetildiazepam, Delorazepam or Prazepam, low doses but repeated if necessary

Can anyone recommend an OTC med that somewhat acts as a benzo and can curb slight anxiety? I know I won't find something as effective, but would like input on the subject. I no longer have a xanax script and currently looking for something to take the "edge" off. Thoughts?

My doctor doesn't think I had panic attacks so no benzos for me. Its probably for the best, I don't really like them anyways, as the screw my sleep and whatnot. I asked him about propanolol, but he said he doesn't like to give that to younger people, especially with my awesome heartrate. Oh well, probably for the best.

Exactly, that kind of social anxiety needs to be treated without drugs. It's un-natural to try and 'cure all' with a pil. But if it's a normal anxiety disorder I sympathise. But still get some balls and practice those skills essential for life.

doxylamine succinate.. look for it as generic sleep meds.

word word word to all who said thse things.... if you can not talk to your neighbor, then you might want to think of a SHORT-TERM benzo regimine (WITH YOUR DOCTORS CONSENT AND DIRECTION)

BUT!!!

Practice does make "perfect"

I hsve been turnd down probably near a hundred times, maybe more.... its just life...

There are plenty of good fish in the sea and if there is a particular one you want to catch.... try a bunch of others first... then go get her!!!!!

best wishes

ps, I got my wife by pretending to look out a window at a pizza joint and said something stupid about something....and 4 years later we are married...

Shit just happens man... dont think about it... just fucking be

I would advise against benzos. Sure, 'oh, I'll take one when I need it'. Not too long after that, you'll be popping them like candy. Trust me. There are plenty of new anti-anxiety meds that are not SSRIs and have little to no (noticeable) side effects. Go to a psych, be honest and try what he thinks is best for you. Finding the right med for yourself is hard, but it pays off. Benzos are more for breakthrough anxiety, like panic attacks, and if Xanax and Kpins put you to sleep, why would you want something similar?

Being a female, we're also if even more nervous about approaching the opposite sex. Drugs needed in order to talk to a chick? We don't bite, hun.

See a psych, be completely honest. We're not PhDs here. Only they can decide what you really need.

Would you mind naming a few?
I'm not dead set on them, but my doctor didn't want to give me Propanolol. Lyrica was another one I wanted to try, but I bother asking since he didn't seem to want to give me anything but SSRIs, offered me Buscar, but I said no I don't want another SSRI.
