Bernie Sanders

Question : Who is more likely to try and paint Russia into a corner to the point that he will lash out (just like America would if it was tried on us) ? Hillary or Trump ?

Fact is Nuclear War trumps global warming everytime. Nothing else will matter post DEFCON 1

Yes I won't have to worry about nuclear war with the guy who wants to dismantle NATO and will liberally mention we have nukes whenever he speaks with a foreign country that isn't backing down.

Is that what he said or is that what you heard he said ?

How do you surmise such things from such an incoherent verbal communicator who relies on soundbyte slogans, and has a very tenuous grasp (to put it mildly) on the complexity of international politics?
He's proven repeatedly to have little - if any - integrity, and lies without shame.

I think Clinton is appalling too - but i just wonder how you can paint such a rosy picture out of such a frighteningly inept candidate?

What makes you think a greedy celebrity attention seeker is going to have any competence in the extremely complicated field of international politics?
I'm not asking this as a put-down; i'm just curious as to how you've made that leap.

My suspicion - having discussed it with some people in the US foreign service i'm rather well acquainted with - is that President Trump (should he ever achieve that title) would be so out of his depth, that he would be completely reliant on his advisors, backers and GOP powerbrokers (in even the most simple elements of the job) considering that he has no experience whatsoever in any public service type of role.

...which would make him one of the most easily manipulated Presidential puppets the USA has ever seen. At least, that's what i've been hearing.
Maybe i missed the Trump speech where he articulated a mature, rational vision for US foeign policy that didn't simply involve jingoistic sloganeering and populist demagoguery?

I agree with your foreign service friends. It was similar with Bush who relied heavily on his advisors. If Trump has good advisors, things could go smoothly. Bush, however, had Cheney of Haliburton. Cheney wanted Iraq's oil and Cheney himself seemed to be the one pushed for and who made the final decision in invading Iraq.

Trump will probably try to run the country the way he runs his companies. They are multinationals, and he has experience working with foreign competition. He would try to keep things stable and not start any wars. He knows that if he makes a catastrophic decision, it will ruin his share price. However, a country is not a company, so he is in over his head again. He is not a hawk and will not start any wars. He will avoid conflict from what I make of his statemetns and track record. But he will have to rely on advisers.

What most likely will happen is the scenario mmt gave. Congress will block everythign he does for the next 4 years. Trump won't have the power to do anythign really dreadful, but nothing good will happen either. During that time, the 2 political parties will have a chance to do some soul-searching and connect with the people they are supposed to represent. Whether they actually do it is another story.

Politics is a dirty business that attracts psychopaths and sociopaths. Psychopathy and sociopathy are 2 personality disorders taht set in and ossify by the time one is 15 years old. There is no cure or treatment. People who have these disorders never stop having these disorders. They only learn to be sneakier and more manipulative. That said, I don't have much faith that the DNC or the GOP will stop being evil within a generation.

If Trump has a personality disorder, I would guess that it is clinical narcissism. He's more focused on getting attention than he is hellbent on amassing power and destroying other people and destroying other countries for the sheer joy of it the way Bill Clinton's wife seems to be doing.

The alternative is Bill Clinton's wife. As SOS, she supported a coup in Honduras and continues to support their oppressive governmetn. She got kadafi killed and gloated about it. Now Libya and the entire region is destabilized thanks to her. She started a coup in the Ukraine and made enemies with Putin. She supported various ISIS factions in Syria and helped create the disaster there. The Pope begged Putin to oppose further US military action in Syria and kept the situaioni in Syria from getting as bad as it could have gotten. She also played a huge role in creating the refugee crisis eventually leading to brexit. Only last week Juicifer 2.0 leaks hacked DNC email taht reveals DNC corruption, media bias, and election rigging. What does she do? She blames the Russians. Now, her followers' attention is distracted by the Russians and they have all forgotten about the rigged election and it has been less than a week.

tl;df - If Trump wins, it will be 4 years of nothing dramatic happening. Immigrants will have a hard time. Racial tensions will escalate. If Clinton wins, WWIII will happen.

I get the impression it wasn't the first time she laughed at someone's death. Her reaction came too easy, natural like. Ugh. No empathy whatsoever.

As a matter of fact, you're right. Hers is the reaction of a sociopath. Here's a recording of her bragging and laughing about how she got off a child rapist when she was a lawyer. She knew he was guilty and she got him off with a technicality: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2f13f2awK4

And here is the victim at age 52. The rape happend when she was 12 later in another video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QnmilCVzdw
Yet another clip of the same case from CNN with more recordings of Clinton's victims: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akO1mCpg4w8

She def has a manical laugh. It's creepy. She has one about going to war with Iran around too.

At this point I think clinton is more dangerous than trump. I don't care what she says or what her platform is. She isn't trustworthy and is a worldwid3 threat. I'm voting third party even if it means a vote for trump. Not my fault they picked a sociopath that cheats, lies, and wants to wage war. I couldn't deal with having to look at her for four more or even 8 more years. Shuddering thinking about it.

Still a small part of me is hoping assange takes her down and bernie gets back in the game. Checking wikileaks daily lol.

Well, both :)

The problem would be the amount of mindless Trump supporters.

If they were both taken down at the same time, on the other hand...

Wow! It is amazing that laugh hasn't been turned over to NATO as a weapon of mass terror. I know I was terrified when I heard it.

What I see happening with either candidate is we are screwed. Nothing more or less, just screwed. Do we choose to screw just ourselves by voting for trump or a third party, or do we screw the world by voting for hillary?

My only hope is held within the idea that assange does have something that is damaging enough to stop hillary, yet also able to be easily and quickly confirmed. It has been proven that each candidate can do whatever they want without regard to their constituents because everyone has been cowed to the point of voting on party lines. It takes true free thinkers to vote on the issues, which is surely lacking in the states. We have grown fat and complacent. We went from a rebel nation to a nation of people that allow this type of corruption to take place on a national scale...as long as we have our fast food, and tv, and social media we don't care if we get fucked by things like citizens united, the repeal of glass steagal, the dismantling of unions.....those are our protections, and we have gotten complacent and started thinking we no longer need them.

This is the wage we have earned.

I lost all respect for this hack the day he endorsed Hillary Corruption. He turned out to be just another pawn spewing leftist double speak, hollow words and empty promises. Bernie sell out Sanders is a timid old fool. When the chips were down, he folded and crumbled like a coward. To think, I was gonna waste my vote on this two faced mule.

Never again. Never again will I subjugate myself to the democratic party.

Exactly how I feel :\

In 8 years it really has devolved into land of Oz where no one really knows what is really going on and there is very obviously a giant machine behind a curtain controlling the whole show.

^This describes not only the Democratic party. But the Dems certainly aren't exempt.

I one worked in a state Democratic office, and my representative was a genuinely good person with good ideas and an agenda even I could support. Hell, she even once chaired a clean water NGO that I work with briefly. But the machine takes people like this, chews them up and spits them out. They'll never make it in politics, because the status quo wants nothing to do with their agenda.

I get tired of correcting people on this, Bernie always said he was going to support her if he lost. Why did you think he would go back on his word? He's an old school hippie who's seen the damage the Republican party has done to this country. I'm not saying I agree with what he did but he's not a coward he has principals and his own view point.

Yeah I switched my party affiliation to none and it feels good. Fuck the two party system.
