Hi.

Lately I´ve started to notice that the morning/day after taking benzos, Im less likely to become depressed.
Im depressed a lot of the time but not in the "classic" way there one is depressed 24/7, mine comes in waves if you will, kind of like what you see in people suffering from bipolar, only that I dont have manic episodes.

Anyways, I´ve been taking benzos in order to live with social anxiety for about 3 years now (not everyday, im not addicted and dont have a noticeable tolerance) but I tend to take them in order to relax and sleep sometimes too.
As I said, lately I´ve noticed that the day after taking benzos, Im a lot less likely to become depressed during the day, especially in the morning.
It happens with low doses, like 30 mg of Oxazepam.

Does anyone else experience the same thing the day after?
Does anyone have a scientific explanation on why this might be?

Thanks.

Yeah well, wouldn´t it be pretty unusual if you didnt feel more relaxed the day after taking a benzo with a very long half-life? I mean, given the fact that you still have quite a lot of Clonazepam in your system the day after. Being relaxed and experiencing anti-depressive effects are not the same, and my question only regards the latter. If I had asked if anyone else feels more relaxed the day after taking benzos Im sure this thread would be at page 5 by now ;)
Thanks for your reply though :)

If you take oxazepam in the evening,
it's normal to feel it slightly the day after.

I've been taking benzos for years for anxiety too,
aiming to use them at most once a week in low dose (1,25mg lorazepam).

I strongly advise to keep a drug calendar and write down how often you take benzos...
taking 30mg oxazepam twice a week is enough in my case to cause more anxiety and restlessness ;)

Semantics, I assume you get depressed less while your high on benzos as well as the day after. It's simply a residual high.

Odd, when i was hooked on Klonopin at 6mg a day, i found that it worsened my (already existing) depression, of course addiction is different then casual use though.

Which generic brand of klonopin did you take and like the best?

My most prescribed ones were the 2mg's C 15 M pills, i always used them sublingually because they tasted like sugar and mint, and they are probably my 2nd favorite. The ones i enjoyed the most taste wise were the red 0.5's r33 pills, they tasted like pure sugary candy.
