benzodiazepine discussion thread

so ive been using benzos in the following way recently: taking 10 days off, then binging for 3 days and then taking 10 days off. i dont seem to be getting addicted and i dont find it too difficult to stay off them for the 10 sober days but i realize this could change at any time so im still trying to be careful. also ive noticed i dont need as high doses of benzos as i thought to achieve pleasant affects. for example right now i am on just 1 mg of xanax and 10 mg of diazepam with excelent affects.
 
First time I took benzos, I had 19 .5mg Xanax.

I don't remember that day but apparently some crazy shit happened if you want to hear.

while i totally respect the hell that is benzo WD (though i have not been there myself), i have to disagree with this statement as myself and a friend of mine were both prescribed clonazepam to sleep, and we used it every night for this purpose in dosages from .5-2 mg for three months (then she graduated and i haven't kept up with her.) however, i stopped the clonazepam cold turkey and just used seroquel to get to sleep and was totally fine. i still have the clonazepam script but i'm just not much of a fan. i think the main reason why i was able to do this was that i never considered my use of it recreational even though i knew it could be abused.
 
i was just on your insomnia thread.. i was suspecting something fishy.. and i was right.

not to offend you or anything. but 'binging' on any dose is abuse.

and if you abuse - you should learn to respect the repercussions.

whereas you might not be physiologically dependent, you are most likely already emotionally dependent. and that alone will cause problems.

what insomnia thread? i dont have insomnia. and by binge, i mean use them 3 days in a row. how are you suggesting i use them? its not like i am stuck in my pattern of usage and cannot change it. for instance, a couple months ago i was taking vast amounts to get high, then i learned i could get very nice affects from much lower doses. sometimes i feel like i get even more enjoyable affects from 1.5 mg of xanax than 5 mg for isnstance.
 
burn out, your plan is a good one. I use benzos myself (somewhat recreationally), and I try to keep my max usage to 2 days on, followed by a minimum of 2 days off (3 is better), and it works really well to avoid building tolerance or becoming addicted. Keeping the dosages reasonable is important too, because you don't want leftover benzos staying active into your break from using.

The goal is to make your body adjust back to "normal" between doses, which you seem to be doing well. :)
 
yes, i was afraid that the massive doses i experimented with last fall would have built me a tolerance (i once took 7 mg of xanax for instance and i think i once took 10 mg of klonopin over the course of a day) but it doesnt seem to have done so. even .5 mg of xanax has a noticeable affect on me, although i find between 1 and 2 mg ideal for reducing anxiety but not getting me too fucked up. i just had to learn how to appreciate the benzo high and once i did that i realized enourmous doses werent really necessary.
 
any tips on how to avoid a buzzkill on benzos? i find that if something goes wrong when im high on benzos, it can totally kill the high (especially since the benzo euphoria is weak to begin with) and taking more benzos doesnt solve the problem.
 
Anyone for whom benzos have stopped working for should switch to clomethiazole. It acts on the GABA receptor (but differently to benzos) AND the the glycine receptor. I know people addicted to 120mg diazepam daily who couldn't sleep. Two caps of clomethiazole sent them right to sleep.

what is the brand name of clomethiazole????
i would like to ask my doc if i can give it a try for insomnia,

is it recreational??
 
It sure is. He took 32 at least. 4 is the maximum given medically and that will f**k you up good. It comes as a freebase liquid in capsules. If you slice the cap & place the liquid on a spoon, it goes into an insulin needlre without adding water. The rush is like a mixture of MDMA & amyl nitrite. Don't do more than 2 or you will just wake up 6 hours later not knowing where you are :) It IS the equal top downer with methaqualone. They are different & both have their strong points, but clomethiazole really is as good. If I was offered the choice, I would have a hard job deciding...
 
what about Meprobamate also known as miltown does anybody have ant experiance with this substance????

wow sounds really interesting.

i hope my doc does not know of the abuse potential i really want to try this drug out.

sounds like it would be fun to mix with a shot of H :|
 
i have a question reguarding tolerance. what is considered a high benzo tolerance? ive been taking them on and off for several months and yet i dont seem to have built much of a tolerance. ive built a tolerance to some of the negative affects like headache and excessive amounts of sleep but i can still feel 1 mg of xanax.

Carisoprodol (Soma) is a prodrug which is metabolised into meprobamate, so i would imagine the effects of Miltown are very similar to those of Soma, although probably faster acting.
