benzo question (sublingual)

I've been wondering if you're not bypassing the first-pass effect through this method of administration? I mean it works for me, on benzos that are active compound, and benzos that are prodrugs so I don't think it interferes with the metabolization, I've just been wondering about the why's for a while now.

Cheers, info would be appreciated.

Oh gosh, that highlighter green font kills my eyes!

Sublingual administration should bypass 1st pass metabolism, unless you end up swallowing it all...

Sublingual is by far the most effective ROA for all benzodiazepines in my experience.

Maybe it's an acquired taste but alprazolam really isn't bad at all as far as taste IMO, much better than say methadone or carisoprodol.

Pure alprazolam doesn't taste bad at all either, hardly tastes like anything... fun fact. I think they make it bitter so that you can detect its presence in drinks, just like with zolpidem, and most formulations of flunitrazepam, which also incorporates a colored dye that activates on contact with liquids, although it's pretty subtle...

Most formulations of flunitrazepam I've had didn't taste bad at all. They tasted a bit salty, but not super bitter like alprazolam. I've never had a bitter or nasty tasting flunitrazepam. Plus, temazepam and midazolam are the #1 and #2 benzos, respectively, that are used for date rape according to a very recent study. Temazepam tastes pretty good, while midazolam doesn't taste like anything.

I've not had very bitter flunitrazepam either, it's all been Mexican, I don't know if this has anything to do with it. But some people have reported to me that they think its bitter, but hey, I don't think alprazolam is bitter so I probably can't be objective on this, hah. Temazepam is also very benign on the taste bud, I SL it even though it's oral BA is 96%, I might compare it to a mild starchy tasting powder.

Alprazolam is horrible tasting. It's worse than acetaminophen that's how bad it is. I had Mexican flunitrazepam once back in 2002 and the quality is nowhere as good as the European flunitrazepam IME. The majority of flunitrazepam I've had was European (Swedish and German) and the taste was more salty than bitter. But the Mexican brands could be different, I guess. I recently got triazolam from an online pharmacy (I think they were French cuz they came in blister packs and everything was written in French) and damn were they ever fucking good. They were only the 0.125 mg, but damn. The best triazolam brand I've ever had.

Yeah, I get 0.25mg Triazolam from Greenstone/Pharmacia & Upjohn, they are beastly strong. it's pretty much the only benzodiazepine that still works for me, besides alprazolam. Something about my body and the triazolobenzodiazepine family... they just work better for me than the nitrobenzodiazepine family like clonazepam, nitrazepam, flunitrazepam, etc.

Flunitrazepam can be fun (rare for me to call a benzo fun, I don't use them as toys anymore, just as tools) but in terms of therapeutic value it wouldn't be my first choice for a sedative.

Do you dose the Halcion sublingually?

Lucky you get triazolam scripted. I have to get it online. Flunitrazepam is nice, but overrated. I actually find its parent drug - nitrazepam - to be a bit heavier. Next to triazolam, nitrazepam is the most sedating benzo I've done.

My favorite is still temazepam even after trying so many benzos. It combines all the classic effects of benzos perfectly. It's a bit on the heavy side as far as sedation goes (according to 2 independent studies, 1 Australian and 1 British - both found that temazepam is the most sedating, most rapid acting benzo, and the most toxic). For me personally, I don't think its more sedating than triazolam or nitrazepam, but it is pretty quick to act. Temazepam is actually euphoric, nitrazepam and lormetazepam are lightly euphoric. I think triazolam and flunitrazepam are real nice too. Those are my 5 favorite benzos.

However, I'm still after nimetazepam and flutoprazepam. I've heard nothing but good shit about those two but too bad they are only on script in Japan.

I am RX'd Temazepam 30s, Triazolam 0.25s, and Alprazolam 2s.

My favorites are probably those three in that order. Nitrazepam is indeed VERY sedating, I would have to agree with you on it being the most sedating benzo, but I need excessive doses to actually SLEEP on it without just being awake and sedated, just like trazodone... Dunno, something about the nitrobenzos. I haven't tried flutoprazepam! (nor have I ever been to Japan, heh) Lormetazepam does have a slightly euphoric feeling.

We're pretty lucky to have all these flavors of benzos available to us through whatever means we can find... Would be very shitty to be stuck with the standard 4: diazepam, lorazepam, clonazepam, and alprazolam.

Shit, lucky you man. All I get scripted is alprazolam (1 mg 3x/day). It does what its supposed to do, but I don't use it recreationally as I just don't find it very recreational. My shrink won't prescribe me another benzo for sleep, he just says take an extra Xanax if I have a lot of trouble sleeping at night. He only gave me a script for 30 mg temazepam once after a suicide attempt a couple of years back and I was having brutal insomnia, so he gave it to me. He doesn't believe in prescribing 2 benzos at once.

I'm kind of a benzo adventurer. I'm always on the search for a benzo I haven't yet tried. I get most of my shit from online pharmacies. Nitrazepam and bromazepam I get quite often from Canadian friends right across the border from Detroit in Windsor. I get 60 10 mg nitrazepams monthly from a friend in Windsor. I go through them in like 3 days. lol

Back in the day, the Roche brand of 2mg Flunitrazepam actually had a nice sweet taste to it.
I stopped getting them before all the hype and rescheduling so I can't comment on the taste nowadays (oh but I wish I could).
Smoking weed on them was fantastic(but I don't smoke anymore either), damn I wish I was young again. ;)
