Benzo for Benzo users with high tolerance

You said you don't want antipsychotics but 25mg of seroquel will have me knocked out when a cocktail of valium, xanax and klonopin doesn't work for me.

Nowadays i usually take valium, klonopin and a benedryl and a bowl of weed to sleep. When I really can't sleep I'll take a seroquel.

OK, why not, I'm open. But after the night (under seroquel) could you "normally" go at job at 7 o'clock with a clear mind ?

I have a bad experience with anti pshychotics , I took one night 250mg of amisulpride (SOLIAN) results :I only slept 2 hours in 3 days
I have find after the good dosage 50mg / day but it is a stimulant at low dose (Dopaminergic effects) it is a total other story !!!

You will wake up feeling like a zombie if you use seroquel to sleep. Wtf happened to barbs? So much stronger than benzos and they knock you right out.

Well when you wake up from Seroquel you don't have the clearest mind. Your very groggy but you'll get your 8 hours of sleep. Just make sure you give yourself a couple hours before you go to your job so that you can work to your full potential.

Waking up from most hypnotic benzodiazepines will leave you groggy though, just not to the extent of Seroquel. Like I said, Triazolam will get you to sleep fast but with a tolerance you'll need at least 2mg, which is 8 pills.
 
Heres a suggestion OP, if you cant get the effects from benzos without taking huge ammounts than obviously you should stop taking them for a while. You need something that wont just help you fall asleep. You need something that will help you fall asleep and keep you asleep and then you will find that you get a better sleep. You should talk to your doctor and see if he can prescribe you something to aid in your sleep.
 
seroquel is nasty, i taken 200mg once when i was in prison, i was in bed for 2 days, how do they expect people to function all day? slept, hungover, id reccommend Remeron for sleep, its weaker then seroqwuel and has good anti depressent qualities....
 
I titrated down from 4mg/day of clonazepam to 1mg/day of clonazepam over the past 6 months, wasn't easy.

Was hoping I could get some effect now from benzos. Not really.

I had IV sedation for dentistry lately, I remember the dentist coming in and I was still lucid and he told the nurse to "just give him the rest of the vial". I felt pretty sedated at that point although I still remember the procedure. I don't think you're supposed to remember a procedure on a full vial on midazolam.

Not into IVing anyway so feel welcome to recommend me something to try under the tongue or down the hatch if I get a panic attack or really need something to calm me down. I'm at a loss right now.

I do have some Trazodone which will knock me out but it's such a nasty drug. The next day is terrible.
 
There's no miracle drug, especially if you already tried clonazepam. The 2mg tabs under the tongue are the strongest benzo I can think of.
 
Hi

What about etizolam 1-2mgs for insomnia and it has a short half life, might be worth looking into. Oh and its not strictly a benzo but its closley related.

ok this isnt really for high tolerance, i would lower that if posible, else youll end up dont able to sleep unless your doctors name is conrad murray...

and take it from someone who used to take hundreds of benzo's a month [/i](100x clonazepam(2mg), 100x alprazolam(2mg) and 100x midazolam(7.5mg?))[/i] i sometime switched the alprazolam for nitrazepam(5mg) and i mixed with antihistamines, booze, opiates and weed just to potentiate, else it just wasnt the same and that is not fun if you need all those thing!
after i got clean i dindt get any good sleep for about 6 months - thank god im done with that

anyway this is my 2 cents...

i have anxiety, panic attacks, depression, PTSD and insomani and of those ~15 SSRI's ive tried none worked as good as a benzo(when needed) not trying to glorify em, but they can really be a life safer if you dont overdo em.

OT: for sleep im a bit torn becourse i have really bad insomania and what dont work for me may work for others, but here goes

oxazepam(quite weak, but dont make you groggy the next day, anxiolytic(but is also prescriped agains sleep of label))
Triazolam(strong, short half-life(never tried it for sleep tho), hypnotic)
nitrazepam(strong but long half-life tho so may be a little groggy next day, hypnotic)
diazepam(mild/sublte with very long half-life, anxiolytic/but is used sometimes for sleep(doctors ehhh?))

oxazepam wins my vote becourse they are so weak, why use something stronger if lesser is enough?

for a strong fast acting benzo (other then midazolam and flunitrazepam) i think i have to say bromazepam it is quite strong i have a little tolerance and 1.5mg(here they comes in 3mg and 6mg pills) gives me a little buzz its strong and short lasting, but i think they are better suited for fun than as a remedy for anxiety/sleep (but im not sure they are used in the us?)

remember if you use benzo's to often, they have rebound effects(make you cant sleep, dont help anxiety etc)
thats why i try to stick to a little oxazepam WHEN needed 1-2 gives me perfect effect (takes anxiety away, or make me able to sleep)

i dont use them every day tho, even tho i could with the amount my psych gives me, but i have been addicted to them once, and you never wanna get to that point!, now years later i can use them when needed and they are a godsend!

be carefull, those suckers are really evil if you dont respect the addiction risk and rebound effects (only use when really needed!)

good luck with the sleeping! from a fellow insomaniac - 2.5mg nitrazepam and im of to bed :)
