I don't like how people will insult others' about being a lightweight, because if you look at it at a logical standpoint, rather than what society expects, then you are really benefiting because it takes less of a substance to get satisfied results, hence a cheaper high. Anyone else a major lightweight? Do people judge you for it? I can smoke two bowls in a group and I'll be blazed. I am 5'8" 113 lbs.

I wish I was a lightweight. It's cheaper.

Doesn't make sense why someone would insult someone else for being able to get fucked up on less of a substance than another person. If anything they should be jealous.

Anyway, this thread probably should be moved to Drug Culture as it pertains more to the social aspect of drug use than discussing a single drug. So note to mod

Thanks for the move. And ya it's just some idea teenagers have in their heads now-a-days, you gotta be able to smoke an 80 sack in 1 sitting, or slam 3 bottles of liquor or you are just a lightweight. That's why people my age piss me off.

I've never insulted anyone for being a "lightweight"; I personally am what I would consider a "heavyweight" to begin with (I am 200+ lbs most of the time), then factor in years of use and tolerance, and its understandable that the doses I have to take for most drugs are massive..

I usually have to take 90mg+ amphetamine to get "desired effects"... dont even get me started on my opiate tolerance.. Let's just say after 1-2 days of using I'm right back to needing 120-150mg of oxycodone to get high. Benzos? Hah.. a 2mg xanax bar doesn't even phase me.. 6mg of clonazepam does the trick usually... And when it comes to alcohol, I can polish off a 30 case in one night of drinking

One thing I've noticed will get me high no matter what my weight/usage is good old marijuana..

I'm envious of lightweights

Everyone has a unique metabolism, it's a fact of life. Some people are ignorant of this fact though, which can result in dicksizing or harassment of those who may be more "intolerant" or "sensitive" to a given substance. I've never really been able to feel comfortable on more than 8 drinks of alcohol max, but I've never been able to get satisfactory results from even moderate amounts of opiates. For instance, I can feel 20mg of oxycodone and get a good buzz off of it, but I much prefer four times that amount at least and it's not overkill for me. And then, even small amounts of benzos have a large effect on me while with psychedelics I've historically required more. etc. etc.

To make an issue out of simple, innate biology is stupid. Everyone's different.

Weed i dont think matters.

. Something like lightweight drinking alcohol could get you in some pretty embarrassing or even scary situations. When i was young i had my share passed out lightweight pranks played on me. Im 28 now and practiced hard and its my time to dish out fun and yet sad and pathetic pranks on the lightweight in an unavoidable drunken state.

Cant speak for other drugs.

If your using something harder than weed or booze chances are your lightweight days are over.

I always thought I was a 'lightweight', especially with pot.
Let me tell you this..
Further experience = higher tolerance = heavy weight druggy.
If you want to remain a light weight, don't over do your drugs of choice.

Always say 'I'm jealous you get so much effect from so little'. Some people actually take that as an insult because they don't like to be called a lightweight. :D But really, I'm jealous. For alot of drugs I have a high 'natural' tolerance. (Or whatever you call it.)

i'm 26 and can say with age the whole "more you can take the more hardcore" mentality stops years before reaching this age. i'm a lightweight when it comes to weed and think it's a great thing. most people i know prefer to get stoned off just a little rather than having to smoke a few grammes to the dome rather than a coupla small cones. i wish i could say the same for my morphine but i'm working on that now. otherwise i'm a lightweight to most everything i use, even benzo's these days.

don't worry what your friends say. find other users if you have to or find the need if you're not having fun with the current bunch you're using with. there's nothing cool about being a burnt out drug addict:)

I was always a heavyweight drinker & bud smoker in particular. Everything else I have always been moderate (by BL standards at least) although if it is there I fiend for coke like a madman until it is all in my snout :(.

I can't drink all too much but it's not like I'm drunk superfast either.
I can take loads of benzos and still be (allbeit slower and a bit more stupid) pretty clearheaded. (I'm talking about doses around 300mg diazepam daily or something , back when I had tolerance.) A friend of mine who was hooked to benzos too at the time fell asleep at my place 2 nights in a row on quite a few occasions when I gave him what I thought would be a good (beginner) dose but in retrospect I gave him way too much, haha! That happened a bunch of times with the dude by the way hah! But I don't mind him crashing here we usually have a good time.

even though weight and individual metabolism may play a role to begin with,
anyone can build themselves up a massive tolerance
i knew this 90lb girl who took doses of opiates that put mine to shame.. some of the doses she was taking would flat-out kill a person with no tolerance.
And she was mixing them with benzos and alcohol too! As soon as I learned that, I told her that she was lucky she wasn't dead.

Edit: Although I don't want to tell what doses she was taking to avoid setting a benchmark or something, for educational purposes: she told me she was injecting either 200mg of methadone or 200mg of morphine, 4+ times a day.. and mixing benzos and/or alcohol on top of that..

The worst part is, I know junkies who are taking even more than that.. i've heard of junkies needing 1 gram of methadone just to get their withdrawals under control.. I can't fathom it, and I'm sure a lot of opiate users know where I'm coming from.. 45mg of methadone to me feels dangerous and uncomfortable. I can't even imagine what provoked a person to build their tolerance up to 200mg per dose, let alone 1000mg per dose
