I really appreciate your reply, I often think the same question, but I know that life is so much EASIER with this aids, however not neccessarily the SMARTEST. Until I was eighteen, my psychiatrist were always in cahootz with my parents, and it was an issue of, "what drugs do we need to put this kid on for you (parents) to tolerate him" Then id see the psychiatrist for a few minutes and the next thing i know im taking some sort of SSRI, mood stabilizer, and other garbage, that to my recollection made me gain a bunch of weight, depressed, and just generally unhappy with my physical and mental health.
I dont know if I need these medications, but I know they work. My psychiatrist and I have really been focusing on my anxiety (clonazepam) for the past few months, and i finally feel normal again, not on edge, im not anxious to the point where literally feel pinned to my bed all day, I can go out, and its great. Thus, he said lets target your ADD now, so, here I am. I dont know if I need it, but i have had more psychiatrist in my life than i can count on my hands, and for once i feel like a have a relationship with mine. We actually discuss what I feel, and what medicines can help me, and the pros and cons. That wasnt my experience prior to being eighteen.
Yes, I know the two medications I am taking are controlled substances, and it weighs heavily in my mind,"how long am I gonna be doing this?" I dont know, I can only handle one day at a time, and i guess thats what ill continue to do until I can handle more.
