Bassnectar anyone?

Do you have any other suggestions for some good DnB shows in my area? I know alot of artists and whatnot, but alot of the shows are mediocre at best and I've been looking to get deeper into the scene but Caspa, Rusko, Pretty Lights and whatnot... they are rarely around. I know this is a bit off-topic but I cannot PM yet.
 
That was a question. Sorry I was just trying to direct my question directly to you. I'm too new to PM, but basically I was just asking if you know of any good artists that have a good following that are often touring. The shows I go to are few and far between it seems like.

You appear to know alot about this scene and so I was just looking for some advice on good festivals/artists that come around the Chicagoland area.
 
I grew up in Milwaukee I raved in chicago for 4 years... yes I know about the scene.... in chicago go see midnight conspiracy they have a residency.... i forget the name of the club.... they are great electro trio of djs....

uhm....

datsik came a while ago, bassnectar just came, pretty lights either just came or is coming...... w/ mimosa i believe... :D uhm.... there is 3 companies i can recommend that throw raves, but a lot get busted.
 
Oh man that is awesome. I'm going to look into midnight conspiracy. I've heard of them but never gave them an honest listen.

Pretty lights isn't going to be here again until December.

Those "companies" have REALLY peaked my interest. I wish we could talk more, raves come and go around here and are usually hard to get to because locations and directions are always changing. However, if you want to shoot me a PM we can talk more.;)
 
Apparently someone lost their life at a Bassnectar show recently :(

Tragically, a week ago, someone passed away after being at a show at the Aragon. I do not have all the details, but I am told he had ingested some kind of drug (potentially mdma?) and today his mother wrote into the site. I responded to her privately, out of respect. But I felt an even more pressing need to address this issue of ‘healthy & safety” with the rest of you.

Me and a girl I went with were recently talking about this. I had absolutely no idea but she informed me.

The Aragon is a fairly large venue, and even though I went with this girl, I lost her all night until we hit the Kinetic Playground after the show.

Highly doubt he died from (pure) MDMA, but I have no idea.

Mostly I just really hope this doesnt call too much attention to Lorin's shows because of one isolated incident.

Personally I know of a huge batch of Molly that was around that night, and I'm willing to bet 1/3 of the audience ingested it, so maybe he just talked to the wrong guy.

Its very sad that happened, and its apparent to me that it most likely was not MDMA, and if it was... there was another substance mixed with it.

Alcohol or other drugs consumed prior to the event could have been a factor as well. I am surprised Lorin took the time to address it personally on his site, most artists would try to cover it up or move on and skip over it.
 
^ Really sorry to hear about that. Hope his family recovers okay, thats hard to deal with.

On a lighter note, there is some new tour dates up! I will def be going to a couple shows in 2011! 1 Nectar dose this year was not enough!
