bad 5htp experiences

There is supposedly a synergy between several of the B vitamins and 5HTP. Taking B6 especially (I think) is a good way to aid your body in turning 5HTP into seratonin, or generally just patching you up.
 
saying its not known in the UK is not really the right thing to say. Whats more correct is youve never heard of it before, but that doesnt mean a lot of other people havent. I know plenty of people over here who use it.
 
Since taking 5-HTP for the last week (150MG) doses before bed, I've noticed no real bad experiences. The only things I would suggest would be, don't take them on a completely empty stomach, they can make you feel a little sicki. I also noticed that if I take them 1 hr before bed, I sleep amazingly well, but I wake up at like 3am totally not tired and ready to get up :) - Of course I force myself back to sleep. However, over all since taking them this week, I feel just fine and dandy :)

I have a friend who has been getting what seem like mild seizures the last few times she's taken 5htp to deal with comedown... not sure how common that is, but its like brain blacking out and before she seriously cut down she nearly fainted a few times... I don't know what brand it was, but no drugs other than E have been involved... I'll find out what brand it was and if there were any other active ingredients, but be careful with your dose, and if you have such problems cut back, that has helped decrease the seizure symptoms.
 
I been taken 5-htp for awhile now, usually to help with the comedowns and must say works pretty damn well to me. I usually take about 150mg the day after and by nights fall I feel alot better and and ready to go out. I sometimes use it for preloading too, I know some people say it wont really do much but hey... I take 100mg a day the week im going to roll except of the day im gonna take some e.
 
so well meanwhile i've been experimenting with it. it gives me bad headaches (which i normally never have), insomnia and nightmares... :-(

besides, on the first occasion it didn't prevent the tuesday-dip -- but that time i had (exceptionally) pilled 2 nights in a row and also done speed, so that was perhaps not a valid test. ;)

on the second occasion it did prevent my usual tuesday-dip -- but i felt physically even worse and more inert than usually after pilling.


i'm surprised not more people complain about this.

i'll try it one more time, but then postloading only and in smaller doses.
 
could it not be, ppl who need htp get no negative affects and ppl who really dont need it have the adverse affects?
 
I've been taking 200mg a day for over a week now and have had no side effects at all. I take 100mg in the morning on an empty stomach and another 100mg about 30 minutes before bed. No stomach problems, no headaches, no bad effects what so ever. Maybe I just have a high tolerance for things?:\
 
I've tried taking 5htp at different times of the day as when I first started taking it I did feel a lill weird....now I take two in the morning (100mg) and thats it..with food of course. Helps SOOOO much with comedown and quick recovery...I rolled Saturday and felt the usual kinda shittiness Sunday, but it went away Sunday night after 200mg 5htp (from the previous night and into next afternoon). Monday, woke up feeling like I didn't do ANYTHING this weekend. Great vitamin when taken regularly too, and then your ready to roll anytime :)
 
ok let me put it in my view.

people who have bad things from HTP could be suffering becaue there serotin receptors are bulding as quickly as they can and there overloading them, and there for as less likely to suffer from problems related with HTP from E because it shows they have a good HTP rebuild.

and could it be that people who have no effects have a serotin system which is either bad, or slow, and therefor the system is using all the parts of 5HTP which it needs to rebuild and then the user feels fine...

what do you think about this theory? is it correct? are there any other factors i have to note? its good to comment as for 2 reasons, a) i'll learn it B)others will 2.

been experimenting with it a few more times. glad to say that it does miraculously decrease my tuesday dips. but i can only take it for postloading and not more than 50-100mg or else i get very bad headaches.

and (contrary to what is recommended on the bottle) i have to take it in the morning and not at night for even 50 mg gives me so vivid dreams and nightmares that i keep on waking up even in combination with a sleeping pill.
