NAME: John Smite
STYLE : Hard Techno / Acid Techno
YEARS : 4
BIO : smite - (from the latin word smitten) to hit hard. adj.

A fanboy whos been involved in the various aspects of electronic music (from promoting to flyering to dance maniac) for over 10 years, Mr. Smite began his DJing career in 1999 after hearing a track from DJ ESP (whom he since has grown a proffesional and personal friendship with) entitled "Basketball Heroes". This tune moved John in ways he never knew he could. From his mind, down to his heart and into the soul and the very depths of the man he is, it was decided right then and there that turntables and the art of mixing and beatmatching where his future.
After spending the majority of 2 1/2 years in seclusion perfecting his art, John unleashed his fury on the world in 2001 with his first show at the popular Milwaukee nightclub "Three". In a place that many Midwestern House and Trance legends call home, Smite's style of hard edged techno shocked the crowd. Jaws dropped and ears where covered.
Playing many fan friendly shows throughout Milwaukee and southern Wisconsin since then, Mr. Smite has spread his style of techno and 303 heavy acid to many new listeners. His appearance on the reknowned Saturday night radio show, WMSE's "Electronic Nation" sparked callers from around the Midwest. Nobody has ever walked away from a Smite performance without one common remark.."what the hell just hit me?"
Looking towards 2004, John has just signed on with The Raving Lunatics, based out of Milwaukee and headed up by the man whos produced some of the most recent releases on Drop Bass Network, Michael Wenz.
With the guidance of Mr. Wenz in the studio, ESP in his heart and style, and the fans who have supported him since day one, Smite looks to a huge year with many surprises. With a hard hitting arsenal of techno and acid hits like his, who can hold him back?

have no hopes of winning this since its such a large house fanbase here, just want to have fun with it and spread some acid lovin.

maybe have different judges for diff. genres? i don't want 4 judges who listen to just house/trance/ commercial telling me my techno mix was bad. do you get what i'm saying??

Yeaahh..I get exactly what your sayin! Am also into those two genres! I also just buy vinyls that are in limited edition from small labels!

well then Teknohero, maybe I should be a judge then... as I love all genre's... and just because I spin house, and the variants thereof... DOESN'T mean that Adam Beyer, Gaetano Parisio, Umek, Misjah and the like aren't in my top 10 favorite DJ's...

I just happen to spin TECH house... and if you listen to my mix, you'll see that it's just BARELY house at all... more tech than anything.

I love Techno, and if your mix is better than mine, then I would most definately tell you so... I can't wait to hear it!!!

that being said, Adam will also vote fairly... trust that... he knows what a good mix sounds like, be it happy hardcore, or cheesy fuckin trance...

he's not voting on genre's... he's voting on flawless mixing, which can be done with ANY genre.

None are superior in my eyes. :D

good for adam!

i am in no means trying to insult, just that with what seems to be a house board, i want a fair shake aswell!!!!

but i suck so who cares!

listen fuckers...

IM LOOKING FOR ORIGINALITY, GOOD MIXING, AND QUALITY TRACKS REGARDLESS OF GENRE

You wow me and you will win, thats all there is to it...im open to all forms of electronica music here folks, i want the best dj, not best house dj...

heh we're fuckers :D

ur a fucker too Adam... we're all fuckers... fuckers who love music!

Mother fuckers who love music!

We're ass kicking mother fuckers, motherfucker!

yea it shouldnt matter what genre you spin-i spin drum and bass and plan on submitting a mix even if it is a large house fan base. i believe the judging will be fair.

Damnit, Keep your mixes online for more than 1day plzz! Been trying too download a few but they are not on!

id say a cd length is idea...but no less than 50 minutes and no more than 80...and the bluelight community gets a vote in the final say as well as the mods...we will have a poll and the winner of that poll will count as one vote for that person...but Im actually thinking the poll winner *should* equal out to our choice if there is a clear cut victor...I wont allow only bluelighters to have the final vote because we will have heard all the mixes, they perhaps have not

thank you drive thru :)
