Attn: Bluelight DJ's: Get your mixes ready! OFFICIAL bluelight mix off!!!

DJ NAME: logic
STYLES YOU PLAY: deep trance, house
HOW LONG YOU'VE BEEN MIXING: 1 year, 4mo.
LOCATION: just moved to south dakota
BIO: (I'll have to write one up later)

I don't have my mix hosted yet, but as soon as my high speed is hooked up next week, I'll post a link. I just wanted to get in on this right away. Can't wait to hear everyone's mixes, whatever genres they may be.

Just found out about Bluelight, and thought I'd post.

I've been Djing for about 10 years, and right now have two residencies at clubs in the Mid West. I play everything from deep/prog/tribal/tech/breaks (not florida though, that sound is buuuuuurnt) and try not to sound like every other prog/tribal DJ out there. The tracks have to groove though, that's the main thing.

I just got done recording a set in conjunction with one of our nights - my "DJ name" is, well, actualy I DJ with one other guy, and we're called Child of the Beat. The mix I'm gonna post is one that I did by myself earlier this week, and it'll be up when I have found an MP3 converter to run it through (I'm kinda old skool, I like to cut my mixes to MD and then to CD) So if anyone knows where I can download one (OS X) instead of me having to find one, it would be cool.

I'm not much into blowing my own trumpet but here's a bit of background info for you: I'm English and grew up going to a club called Shindig in Newcastle, North-East England. Those that are "in the know" will know Shindig. That really got me hooked, but before then it was Orbital, Prodigy, Art of Trance and others along with Tongy's Essential Selection in the early 90's that all contributed to my love of the music. And wow how it has changed over the years.
So now I live in the States, and get to play in probably the two top clubs in Louisville, KY. (Did you know Louisville is now the 16th largest city in the country with over a million people?) Yep, the land of rednecks and good weed has us trying to educate the masses the best we can. The clubs are called Main St. Lounge and @tmosphere Nighclub, and they have set a new standard on how clubbing is viewed in the city. Things are finally starting to change!

So that's it. Ill post when I get my set up, 'till then let me know about the MP3 thing.

See Ya.

You do know there's already a DJ Logic, right?

www.djlogic.com

I haven't used that name in a public setting yet, but I keep leaning to it as it fits my personallity well. Also since this guy is out of the Bronx, I think I'm safe here in South Dakota ;) Maybe I'll have to work on a variation on the spelling.

Hydra,

i got a request - i might not be able to get my mix to you & the other mods by sept14th, because i don't know how to use soundforge / upload a mix yet so it will have to be on cds, and the postal service is fucked here atm. however i'd really, REALLY like to be involved so if i could guarantee it gets to you by around the 20th would that be ok? it's just to allow time for postage etc...

otherwise if anyone could PM me as to how to get a mix online that would also be great!

thanks

seuss, if you mail me a cd ill make sure i judge yours :)

mystic, by the way, ur mix, what is that track where the english house-head is mc'ing over that funky ass beat? I think its the 4th or 5th track on ur mix..its hot :)

Hydra - thanks :) just sorting out a cd! i will also try to get it online, but at 70mins i'm not sure my dialup is capable.

I'm a DJ and that makes me cool

DJ NAME: Sea Monkey
STYLES YOU PLAY: mainly Drum and Bass
HOW LONG YOU'VE BEEN MIXING: < 1 year
LOCATION: Indianapolis, IN
BIO: This DJ likes to talk about his accomplishments in the third person because it makes him feel important. He was introduced to the rave scene in the Summer of 2000 and was instantly enamoured with the idea of becoming a DJ, but it wasn't until two years later that this dream was realized. Less than a year into his DJing hobby/career/obsession, he has had opportunities to play smaller local gigs through his compatriot's company Induce, and had a chance to play at Burning Man 2003 to a less-than-massive crowd due to the fact that the super-mega-rave camp that had many of the best DJs on the playa was camped on the outer edge of town where most people didn't bother to explore.... (they said to make this as long as we want right?)
