Aspiring Rapper Tweets 'YOLO' About Driving Drunk And Dies Minutes Later

YOLO=you obviously lack originality

I read somewhere that SWAG was used in hollywood to for gay men to identify gay orgies, swag meaning "secretly we are gay"

I'm not sure about the factuality of the latter and the prior, I heard from a friend.

I don't give a shit who was driving, texting, whatever. They were all willingly involved and put countless other people's lives at risk UNWILLINGLY by doing 120 on public streets. Still no sympathy from me. (and the world is no better nor worse of a place for it. My lack of sympathy that is. The absence of these guys? Arguable.. ;))

You guys act like you've never done anything stupid?

3 years ago, right before I went to detox/rehab for opiates/alcohol I took my moms car drunk at 2am (while my license was suspended for a DUI I got a year earlier). In my neighborhood the Main Street is straight and long. I got up to 85mph didn't see the red light so I slammed the brakes on and went over the little median thing and came about 6 inches from t boning a car. I had no seatbelt on and I had a open fifth which flew off the front air because of how hard I hit the brakes.

What did I do after that? Drove in the shopping center about 500ft away and hid in the back parking lot taking shots cuz I was so shook up. I drove him about 10 mins later. I was still occasionally taking my moms car for drunken joy rides up till last summer. I haven't drank and driven in over a year and when I get the urge to take her keys I just smoke a bowl and call it a night.

People do this shit everyday and just don't get caught. People only get there panties in a bunch when someone does or kills someone else even tho its happening at all hours of the day/night all around the world

Some of you mother fuckers need to take a good hard look on the mirror before you start casting stones

^ I don't get how your tale of stupidity is supposed to offset the OP's tale of stupidity. Does stupid + stupid = smart or something? Just because a lot of people are doing it and getting lucky by not yet killing themselves or other people, doesn't mean what they're doing is by any means a good idea.

My vehicle was hit by a drunk driver while I was on the highway, with my mother in the passenger seat no less. One minute we were driving along and in an instant our car was rolling because a pickup truck side swiped us. The driver? A fucking drunk who left a bar not even able to walk, got into his truck, and sped down the highway. Total bullshit.

If it were just about drunk people putting their own lives in danger I would have way less issue with them driving, but every drunk driver on the road is a danger to everyone else on top of it. It's not a victimless crime. The MADD campaigns have made the punishments too steep, but there do need to be punishments and interventions. It's drunks not knowing their limits that have caused the expansion of government power to intrude into people's lives and violate their privacy on the road with road blocks, searches, etc.

I'm not into victim blaming. I don't think anyone deserves to die over substances. I do think though that the adult passengers in the vehicle have the responsibility of knowing who is at the wheel, if they are ok to drive, etc. If someone is really hammered you should be taking their keys. They might hate you for it but oh well. I was an idiot when I was younger. I didn't want the inconvenience of waiting for buses to start running in the early morning so I just took the drunk ride instead.

You would want to know more about a person before handing them a loaded gun. Letting someone with a history of touting YOLO, getting pissed and driving is okay is a pretty good indication you should NOT ever be in a car with that person. I'm sorry but the passengers, whoever they were and whatever their stories are, were stupid to get into a car with that guy. He was an accident waiting to happen, as most drunk drivers are.

Nowadays, if I find out a friend is drunk at the wheel, I get out of the car and I never get into that car with them again. I have zero patience for stupid people.

Maybe you misunderstood. When I explained my story I was trying to say that people do this all the time and no one gives a fuck till they get caught. I'm not supporting driving drunk at all. If you read my post I actually said that I try not to drink and drive. I'm getting to old for that shit

It needs to stop.

I've had two close friends killed by asshole hit-and-runners recently. One of them, I found myself right after he was hit. Have you ever held the still-warm dead body of someone you know?

All I'm saying is, we can all exert cultural pressure on asshole drivers. If somebody tweets or posts video about this bullshit, he needs to get his ass kicked by every guy that knows him. Until everyone stops doing it.

bears repeating (sorry for your loss, btw)

But people are not ever gonna stop. As long as alcohol is available there will be stupid fucks that drink and drive

I agree, but we can get it to significantly decrease. A lot of hazardous popular activities have responded to social pressure. Like shooting bullets into the air on New Year's.

For starters I'd like to see movies like The Fast and the Furious boycotted when they premiere in theaters. But asses should also be kicked.

live and let live. so long as it's not harming you directly, fuggit. YOLO.
shooting bullets into the air, like firing blindly in any other direction, puts society in immediate physical danger and is a genuine threat we should aim to reduce. Shitty movies, or shitty anything cultural, is usually ineffective to "boycott"; much more effective means to changing such things than boycotts and ass-kickings ;]
/is there a f&f6 yet?

How ironic this popped up fb last night. People won't learn I guess.. Fuck it, what's the point at even talking to people anymore they won't listen anyways

Are you saying that street racing is less of a public menace than shooting into the air? I can't tell.

But I disagree. Businesses respond to boycotts with alacrity. Twitter and stuff has made consumer activism a powerful weapon.

My point was not that they won't respond, it wsa that much of the time ppl focus too much on bringing down the things they want to change, instead of building up alternatives (which is more effective both in undertaking and results much of the time). sorry i'm stoned lol, will show myself out.
