I think some of you (above) are not being fair to Mokie. What if he were offered a settlement which would be enough to pay for four years of college at the best school he could get into? Or could be used for something equally worthwhile? [Sorry Mokie, I don't know how old you are.] Is it fair for us to ask him to turn that down?
Just because it doesn't go public doesn't mean there are no consequences for the city/state. That money and the lawyer fees have to come from somewhere, and it is the threat of such costs which encourages cities and states to reign in their police, enforce sexual harassment laws, discrimination laws, etc.
The facts that Mokie took any legal action at all, and that there may be a settlement, are both great accomplishments.
