Are mushrooms the forbidden fruit??

So you think amantia are as psychedelic as psilocybin? That's ridiculous.

I think it would depend on ones personal experiences with the 2 different compounds.

Many people DO have a psychedelic experience on amanita's, and they have a long history of religious / shamanic / ceremonial use. they just seem to require a different approach than psilocybin to get effective results such as knowledge of season, location etc... psilocybin requires none of that, eat them and trip, easy peasy. amanitas often don't seem to work and that's why they are not rated as highly, but that does not mean that with the right use and approach they are not equally as impressive psychedelically.

i believe in mushrooms but il be fucked by gnomes before i believe that bullshit story the bible...

It is my understanding and belief that the "Jews" started off as Egyptians. And after they became Jews, they were constantly turning back to the gods of Egypt -- i.e., the Pharaoh. Moses, of course, was supposedly raised in the Pharaoh's house. He obviously worshiped the gods of Egypt until the day the true God revealed Themselves to him.

Also, "Satan" was considered a "God", as was Hades. For instance, (Book of Job, 1, 6): "One day the Children of God came to attend on Yahweh, and among them was Satan." Or, Psalm 82, vs. 6: "I have said you are gods and all of you are children of the Most High. But you shall die like mortals and fall as one of the princes."

One day little red riding hood was walking through the woods...............

I had a pretty awesome experience with them, where, I believe I experienced information regarding "adam and eve", the serpent, the tree, and this fruit. I'm not sure how it's connected. I have forgotten most of the experience, as I did very shortly after.

Another mushroom that grows at the foot of a tree, is amanita muscaria. I think. I could be completely wrong. How was the wording... In English, "the fruit of the tree".

I don't know. I understood it all- then, though (or thought I did), but I went in with a belief that this was a "manna", or this "fruit" in the story- or at least greatly entertaining the idea. I remember it as one of the most creative, deep, imaginative mushroom experiences, and I had a wonderful afterglow. It was only something like 1.3 grams. Much of this revelation into what I saw happened in the shower. I verbally told myself what happened, in a different voice. It's me, but it's one I use when energized, and a little different. I'm sort of acting, but what I say is genuine. To be honest, I felt a little detached from it, this time, as if I was channeling something... the truth that I saw- I guess. How, in my limited make-up currently, I'm allowed to perceive (meaning, it may represent a truth, and may be a truth, but there are more ways to perceive). I do remember recognizing that it definitely wasn't something I would normally be able to "dream up" so easily, and it wasn't what I typically experienced with mushrooms. It may have been my first shower with them, however.

Lots of factors.

I'm not sure. I would say they are something special.

They're kind of freaks of nature, too. I forget what exactly it was, but they're the only thing to produce a 4-substituted something or another (tryptamine, but...), I don't know... More or less an echo of something I read. The author- perhaps it was McKenna, entertained the idea that based on this uniqueness- whatever it was about it (could be wrong about the 4-sub...), that nothing else in the kingdom shared, and it's ability to make us see things, that it was introduced/engineered.

Perhaps an expansion might go into a stoned-ape theory of sorts. Maybe that's it. I just catch things here and there. It's been awhile since I read any of this stuff, too.

Why create the thread at all? The fruit is a metaphor for knowledge. There wasn't any literal fruit or vegetable. Maybe some kind of a machine that removes the veil of ignorance in incarnates on earth, lol.
Isnt it also possible that the mushrooms evolved and since, the toxins they produce induce a state that more than just humans endure when eaten, my dog snatched some up when I left the room one time, and he runs away from them now, and you could tell he was tripping, poor guy :/ . The mushroom contains just a poison, without the ability of a brain like ours to process the experience, it would probably just scare the shit out of nearly anything that eats it. just my 2 cents
Shrooms and MJ were specifically designed to produce those chemicals. I'm with Terrence on this one. Cannabis employs a unique mechanism in whole nature to produce THC and other cannabinoids, don't you read news?
